mac vs. me
It was certainly an exciting day in nerdville yesterday.
If you didn't hear, a power outage took down many of the sites you care about, this one included.
My new boss called yesterday afternoon to let me know they were getting me a new laptop, and wanted to know if I preferred a mac or pc.
And folks, I can't believe I said this, but I got a pc.
I know keyboard shortcuts are just keyboard shortcuts and it probably wouldn't take me that much time to code and design just as fast as I do now with a mac... but I already feel like this job is going to be Super Challenging (in a really awesome way) and I was just too fearful of being a stressed out mac n00b my first week of work.
Anyway, halfway through my conversation, the line went dead.
He called me back like a minute later to say, "Umm, our power just went out, and we have VoIP, so I had to use my cellphone."
I let him go since obviously things needed to be taken care of, and then about a second later Chris came into kitchen and was like, "Uhh, what other sites do they share hosting with???" Too Funny.
I guess that's all that's really going on around here, I got an OK haircut down the street earlier today. As in, it's OK but I'm not going back there.
At least my hair grows fast.
Oh! And Chris and I are going on our first "adult" road trip! We're leaving tomorrow to go up to wine country and stay in a swanky hotel. I don't know if I'm more psyched about the wine bars or the hot tub. Or the vegan beef jerky I'm going to eat on the way. Me and my wine lips will be back in S.F. Friday night.
