I consider fame to be a sort of suspended adolescence a lot of the time. It's amazing to me knowing that what little work I do before the lens can amount to so much in the bank when there're people who work four times as much as I do for much less if only just to get by. It's not really fair. Being an entertainer, I try really hard to find work that's compelling, something that'll play to the audience and keep them surrounded and in it for however long they're in the cinema. The magic of film is in letting it be okay to shut off your cellular phone for two hours, drown out the world outside the dark theater and get lost in someone else's story. As strange and uncomfortable as our world is it's nice to have a means of escape, if only for a short time.

There's a bit of compromise that comes with it, though. After everything I've accomplished I still don't think I've ever been an 'it boy' and the lack of those considerations are beginning to show. There was a fallout with Altman and the producers of Paint so the project will undoubtedly remain in limbo. My directorial projects will likely show at festivals either this year or next and are still shopping distribution deals after all this time. I've been living past the dollar in my pocket and it's absolutely necessary I get work before the third Spider-Man project goes into production. My meal ticket's close to it's expiration date and before its renewal I had to pick something else up.

On an absolute whim and with pressure from my representation I decided to take a role in an Electric Entertainment production called Flyboys. Before you get excited, this has nothing to do with Jennifer Lopez's involvement in In Living Color. I was disappointed, too. Instead it's another of those modern historical stretched truth kind of films centering around American pilots serving in the French air force just before America entered the first World War. I share top billing with Jean Reno, so that's kind of cool. If anything we'll have fun talking shit about Natalie Portman. Just kidding, Natalie, he'd never do that.

With every other post on my friends page centering around Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, I think I'm ready to add everyone back. Satisfaction is a rarity, I know. I can do it, though, as I'm told I'm quite charismatic and easy on the eyes. I need new icons.
