Mhmmm. =) I'm happy.
So a few months ago, Mr. Roscoe enters my film, the one that took so much out of me, "The Paper Heart" into the Toronto Student Film Festival. He told me it was a long shot, blahblahblah, whatever. Months later, I'm standing on stage with this acrylic plaque in my hand, grinning like some goofy little filmmaker.
Some info on the festival: Basically, hundreds of submissions are sent from around the world. They narrow it down to 25 films, and then from those 25, there are about 9 awards given out. Fortunately, I got my hands on "Second Place". First Place was given to a girl from Houston, Texas, who actually flew all the way down here to receive her award. The screening night was Friday, which was about 4 hours and showed all 25 films. The award ceremony was tonight.
Some info on me DURING the ceremony: So, with each award name called, I was sort of getting more and more depressed. This was my mindset: I'm not going to get anything. My parents came all the way down here, and I wanted them to see my movie on the big screen, too. But eventually, my name was called. My parents finally saw my movie. They are proud.
I am happy.
