a lil statement of faith..

Scripture - The scriptures are completely and entirely God’s word to us. (The 66 books comprised of the Old and New Testament.) It is God breathed and inspired. Written by imperfect people over 3 continents in different cultural backgrounds brought together to guide, instruct, educate, and direct God’s people.  It is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

God (The Father) - God, the Father, is one third of the Holy Trinity. God is a co-eternal being, co-eternal in nature, and co-equal in glory.  God is perfect by nature and is the creator of all things seen and unseen.

Jesus Christ - Jesus Christ is fully human and fully God simultaneously.  He was born of a virgin birth. Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life. He is one third of the Holy Trinity. Christ was betrayed by man, became the sacrificial lamb for all of mankind. He took on all the sins of the world, past, present, and future to offer up eternal life in heaven for those who would accept Him into their hearts as the Savior of their souls.  Jesus rose from the death three days after dying a horrible death on a cross. He appeared to man and ascended to the Throne at the ring hand of God 40 days later.

Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit is one third of the holy Trinity. It was sent down to become a helper as described by Jesus in Acts.  The Holy Spirit is still among the church today and is actively working through us.

Salvation - Salvation is a free gift that is given to us by the Father, completed by Jesus Christ, and alive in us by the working of the Holy Spirit.

The Church - The church is the body of Christ and is not held strictly to a building. The church is people who have acknowledged Jesus Christ as Lord, and accepted Him into their hearts as the complete savior of our soul.

Eternity - After this earthly life we will live in an eternity, forever in the future, either experiencing God’s glory in heaven, or experiencing God’s judgment in hell.

Satan - Satan is a created being. He was the second in command in Heaven.  He then became filled with pride and sinned against God. Hell was then created for Satan and the third of heaven that fell with him. Satan’s purpose stays the same, to glorify him and to pull away from God’s glory.

Worship - Worship is the ultimate response that a person can give to Christ Jesus.  It is not held to music for 30 minutes, but it is a lifestyle reflecting and revering the creator of the universe.  As far as worship through music, worship can be any action that praises God in an orderly manner, for God is not a God of confusion. Singing, dancing, raising of hands, using musical instruments, clapping and bowing down are incredible ways to experience our Father through musical worship.  It however is not entirely up to the worship band to extend the invitation to enter in to the presence of God. The audio, video, and lighting engineers play a big part in this as well, for it is not just through one medium that, God will reveal Himself. For God created all things, and works all things for good, for those who love Him. Worship is just as essential as the lesson.  For in itself, God will use what sounds like shouting to touch a life in a way that simple words cannot do alone.  For God has given us the gift of music, and worship is the church’s way of expressing an artistic form of worship. For a line in a sermon my not stick with you all day, where a simple melody from a song will be with you all week.  Just as a mother will sing a lullaby to her newborn, in the same manner, Jesus has the music of the universe playing directly to us.  It is about putting your best foot forward in a worship set, but above all, being sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Allowing for His agenda to be accomplished, not any personal one.  1 Corinthians 10:31 - “Whether than, you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”  Thus every action that we have in us, everything we do, it is all done to God, and to God be the glory.
