Ahhhhhh! My Eyes are Burning!!

10 years ago my wife and I agreed to house Japanese students that taught at our kid's school for a year.
This particular year was Naoko.
One evening, as I went into the bathroom to take out my lenses, I decided to use Naoko's lens solution (I didn't see mine).
The next morning @ 7am, I put in the first contact.
SEARING PAIN.
I could not even get my eye open to get the frikin lens out. That's how bad it was. My eye was in an involuntary contraction. My ears were making this rumbling noise and no one around to help (or laugh at) me.
FINALLY I get the damn thing out. My eye was bright red, and throbbing.
So guess what I did next.
I think that because of the amount of pain I was in, I became very delusional. That's the only explanation I can think of.

I put in the other lens.

Somehow the amount of pain I was in needed a second opinion. Sure enough, I went through the EXACT same body gyrations as the previous self blinding-mutilation ballet.

And when I finally got THAT lens out of my eye, I knew then (I had proof and a second opinion, right?) that the stuff she used for her lenses should NOT be used for mine. Unfortunately I couldn't read the Japanese on the bottle.

I threw my lenses away. Put on my glasses and left for a 7:30 am meeting with VERY bloodshot and painful eyes.

The question: What do I say to a large group of business people about how my eyes are blood red and painfully reactive to light?

Ahhh, memories. It's nice to have them and know that you don't have to experience the pain all over again.
