It was a good weekend. Jeff's party was not the Fiesta de Sausage I was worried it would be, and even Harris was pretty well behaved. I don't even think there was a fight or an extended wrestling match, WOW. In some ways it was like Beltaine, there was a fire, and I had to excuse my self from the party for awhile to watch sports (more on that later). In other ways it was the exact opposite, way too many people drinking HORRIBLE beer. Life is too short to drink PBR. Jeff's house is an absolutely perfect place for a party too, and if his backyard didn't slop so much it would be a wonderful place for Beltaine.

I feel like there's a drift in my friends these days. There's Jeff, Darren, Johnson, Harris etc., and then the Lisa & Dave, Keira, Amy & Alex crowd. (I know that's not everyone, but you get the idea, I'm not typing out forty names.) The split certainly makes things more difficult, like having to choose between two parties/gatherings, but it also makes things more interesting because my social circles end up becoming larger as a result. (The current-GS group is another separate thread, as are Eddie and Teresa, and then there are my "sports/wrestling friends" whom I am extremely grateful to for existing in my life. Of course it all overlaps a little bit, but there are a lot of different interests between the various groups, and I only marginally fit into any of them.)

I read that Betlaine at Ween was the "best ever," which makes me sad in two ways. First of all, if it was the best ever and I missed it, that's a bummer. Secondly, was it the "best ever" because Ari and I weren't there? Eh, at least people won't be able to complain about me, probably, I'm sure someone will. One more "ehhhh" just because I feel like adding it in there.

The highlight of the weekend for me were the two big Penguin wins. I am becoming a huge hockey fan, and it's probably going to wreck my marriage. After the Pens topped the Capitols on friday night, I walked around the house beaming, and wooing, and I was about as giddy as I am after a big Steeler win. Ari could tell too, and the look on her face was entirely disapproving. I think the quote was "You are acting like the Steelers won, and that's not in the contract."

F*&k the contract, I LOVE hockey, especially Penguin hockey, and I am starting to obsess about it a little bit, and I make no apologies for that. It's an amazing sport, and I can't get enough of it (at least at playoff time, I'm not sure I'm going to obsess about the regular season, but from March-June it's "can't miss TV"). Of course I watch all the Redwings game too, and root for them, but I've also started watching all the other series too, and I've been cheering on the Blackhawks. It's a great sport, I hope my boys win tonight and send the Caps packing, especially that cheap-shot artist/bastard Ovechkin.

It's about time to go clean out the basement (fun-NOT!) as we continue some spring cleaning projects. We got rid of the "fourth" roommate at the start of the month, and it's very nice to just have three people living here. Living with Nick/Darren was a breeze, they were never here, but Joel sat on the couch for about seven consecutive hours a day, it was a bit much.

I was tentatively planning to go to Wellspring in a few weeks, but with Ari not being able to go, and the idea that I could spend three days doing nothing and sleeping in is tantalizing me, I might not go. I have a busy summer, not doing something for a weekend would be a plus. This weekend it's all about seeing Roger Clyne and a little bit about the East Lansing Art Festival.

That's enough rambling today, later peeps.
