First, I'd like to say: My mouth hurts from using English-speaking muscles.
Incroyable!
How can I begin to express everything? Two languages won't even begin to offer me enough choices in these subtle vocabularic nuances! I'm truly a blessed person. Something else I had to throw in there for these feelings.. Yow!
Here's what lies at the tip of the iceburg...
I just got home from France. I lived there for about four months, a time in which I became pretty close to bilingual and made friends from numerous countries all over the place. I realize I wish the world was really smaller so that everyone I love can be just that much closer, and also because I cannot comprehend the massivity of the earth's true largeness.
I just spent the last few days of this week at Westminster College with my lov, my r00mie, Sky. I ate at El Canelo's for the first time and was truly a foreigner. I had a most fantastic conversation about the PeaceCorps with a girl doing some oil painting. I walked through little snowy New Wilmington and mingled with the locals at their places of business. I had a REALLY QUIET DANCE PARTY and snowy appetizers with lov-ly r00mie.. (Pictures to follow later!!) I began to learn a great song on guitar.. (Such great song!) I received amazing hugs from dear old chums I had not seen in quite a long while. I chatted on AIM! I watched old skool television. I gave a poor demonstration of my increased tolerance. I got yelled at by my neighbors for supposedly making lots of noise, then they awoke me rudely this morning at 8:13. Ugh. I visited Peggy Cox, kind mentor and mandatory advisor, who upon the sight of me immediately exclaimed, You must be ready to head off to France!.... Double ugh. Peu importe. I also got to pay the Titan Card Meal Plan Price instead of the Cash price because I only had $5.09 for that salad. Thanks, Sodexho!
I just got off the phone with my brother.. for about the fourth time in the past twenty minutes or less. Guess who went to Happy Hour!! It was amazing. My brother, truly, the real thing, Adam, AJ, what have you. He called to remind me he's coming home on Sunday and wanted to suggest that we eat out at the Italian Villa in Ambridge. Or possibly the Hot Dog Shoppe. Oh heck, why not both?? We also discussed such great things as hooking up our computers to exchange MP3 awesomeness, the current status and score of the Penguin's game, his top two favorite songs and music videos (Take On Me and Video Killed the Radio Star), the amazing buffet food at the place with Happy Hour, his newfound obsession with New Wave Arcade and how I will be going up immediately once I'm 21 to partake in the fun and ridiculously awesome music scene, the job he's working tomorrow to get paid lots and lots, and how very very hard he's worked on papers and finals the last week and a half. I am so proud of that boy. I love my brother. He's amazing. I can't believe he called, but then I realized, Wow, he is under the influence. Even better! He warned that he'd keep phoning to bother me all night. I think it's a fantastic idea. I miss him and I'm entirely too excited that he's coming home in just two days.
I just realized a lot of things quickly. I know what I want and I know what I don't want, but I really have no idea beyond that, deeper than that, on what I want to do, what I want to become, what I don't want to put up with anymore? I dunno.. I don't really want to ramble, but in doing some catch-up reading in the old LJs of some prior acquaintances (take no offense if you think it's true) I suppose this sort of rambling is acceptable and courant in LJ land. Another thing for LJ land.. survey quizzie extravaganzas! Here's one now..
