So I'm on the 6 train up to my doc's, nothing to worry about- honest, and it is packed just to get out. Like a decent band had just finished a set on the uptown track, and everyone was waiting for coatcheck.
It was that packed.
And there was the 'AM New York' lady, trying to hand out her paper, which no one was taking. And she was doing a good job, wishing people a good day, speaking clearly with great diction.
This is 'AM New York,' people. Not Epoch Times or some covert cult rag. This is a decent if slim bite of print media. And when the subway is looking like outtakes from 'Metropolis,' well gawsh darn it, time to be human for a sec.
So I took one. I'm sure it was hardly the best moment of the day, but at least the life-futility gauge dropped a little.
As for the rest, well I'm within sight of vacation, and just burnt crispy. I got so much good going on, but the workplace is so committed to being a frustration. And being paid to stay away from it is a good thing.
Oh, last thing. In the Grand Tour, I just hit Rocco DeLucca. Who is ok, very much a Jeff Buckley kind a guy. But on a snowy New York day, when you are just working through a rough patch, falsetto and longing is not the best soundtrack flavor.
