new job, new state

I've been pretty quiet about this because I didn't really want to jinx anything by talking about it a lot, but I accepted a new job today. I'm going to be an Area Coordinator (soon to be Assistant Director b/c they are changing the title) of Residence Life at Union College in Schenectady, NY. In 5 weeks, I'm going to be a New Yorker! Weird, I know... I'm still digesting it all because the process happened very quickly with them. In fact, until a week ago tomorrow, I really didn't know much about them other than that I had applied for a job on a whim. They called me last Wednesday, did a phone interview on Thursday, called me on Friday to ask me to come to campus immediately. I flew there on Sunday, interviewed all day yesterday, and flew back this morning. As I was pulling into my garage in Athens, they called to offer me the job. I'm very excited! I liked it there so much. It's a nice small town, but 15 minutes from Albany (the state capitol and home of an airport) so it's not so isolated like Athens is. It's gonna be a nice gig I think. More money, bigger apartment, bigger job, etc...Plus, Union is a small, private, liberal arts school, so I think I'll like it there a lot.

Anyway, just wanted to keep all you in the know now that I know where I'm going.
