starting at a new school
so different so much bigger
our one table has as many as the whole staff at meeka
but the teachers seem friendly
helpful and enthusiastic
treating each other like professionals
offering advice and assistance
no belittling and ridiculing here
instead adults doing their jobs
so many students to meet
so many names to learn
more than one hundred in my five classes
I struggle through the days
little by little I find my way
one by one I learn new names
I pray only to be able to teach
to help these young people
to achieve their goals
