10.5 Boston - Business Tycoon
The Boston family is our first American family and consists of:
Rachel Boston, Knowledge elder, LTW Mad Scientist. She works as a Theorist in the correct career
Regis Boston, Family elder, LTW to graduate 3 children from college. He works in the Military career as an General
Heather Boston, Fortune teen, LTW to become Chief of Staff. She works as a Senior Executive in the Business career
Imogene Boston, Family teen, LTW to celebrate Golden Anniversary. She works as a CEO in the Business career.

The lot value is 96.409§ and the weekly tax is 4.820§.
The Boston family love their animals dearly. J68 never met a sim family that pays more attention to the animals than this family does. Every time they don’t have anything special to do, they play with Hermione, the cat, or the Ozzy, the womrat.
All the bread winners of the family arrive home at the same time. Imogene, the family girl, is unexpectedly promoted to Business Tycoon at age 25 or the like. She wishes only for a Golden Anniversary, so maybe she’s relaxed when it comes to her career, and therefore more likely to get a promotion.
Heather, the fortune girl, is promoted, too, to Executive. Maybe she tries too hard.
Regis is already at the top of the Military career and relaxes most of the time.
Anyway - for Birka Imogene’s promotion is big news!! 1 Business Tycoon first of all unlocks the Business Career to all sims. Secondly it unlocks a Business District, which is added immediately. The closest town to Birka on lake Mälaren is Strängnäs, so that’s the name the business district gets. There’s nothing there yet, but eventually I’m sure there will be!
The addition of Strängnäs makes the population pass 1000 inhabitants, which in turn opens the Medical, the Political and another opening in the Journalist careers for a total of 2. It also makes the availiable openings in Law Enforcement 4 and in Education 4. Soon no one will have to stay unemployed in Birka!
And last, but not least - by adding the business district, we earn 5 more CAS sims!
Since it is Heather’s dream to start a career in the Medical path, she starts her search for such a job. No luck today, but she will find it, and in the meantime she’ll keep her Business job.
Imogene sets a plan in motion. The population of Birka is always sick with the flu, and they need a pharmacy. Imogene is a Family sim and has the ability to cook Comfort soup, and so, she starts the first business in Strängnäs - The Boston Pharmacy.
Imogene starts her preparations for the pharmacy immediately. She cooks batch after batch of Comfort Soup to sell there.
Always playing with the animals…
Even the guests are mad about the Boston animals.
Then it’s grow-up-time. Heather grows up very well into a pink style.
Imogene picks a light blue style. The girls will stay here the week out, and then one of them will move out. Probably Heather, since she has an LTW that will make her some serious money - the Medical career. And since this house is well suited for a big family and Imogene is a Family sim, she has the best use for it.
The first day when Rachel has only adult children, she gets promoted to Mad Scientist, which she has been working for since she came to Birka. Congratulations!
That also gives her enough aspiration point to take a secondary aspiration of Pleasure, and to fill her aspiration board completely. Regis does not fill his aspiration completely, but he’s got enough to also pick a secondary Pleasure aspiration.
Heather also gets a promotion, to Senior Manager, but she thinks she moves too slowly. And in the wrong career to that. She wants a Medical job!
Then ACR tells us that Mats Picaso will probably be the next Mr Boston.
And that night it’s decided that Mats will move in with the family. He brings 15.000§ and a wish to become a Hall of Famer. That is completely allowed, as his current employment in the Military career. Mats is a Popularity sim, by the way.
Inspired by her sister’s success in love, Imogene booty calls Cyd Roslund over. They have only one bolt, and Imogene will marry Melvin Colorado, but he’s still only a teen, so this will be a temporary solution.
Hm... that was fast.
Heather and Mats are not far behind
Maybe we’ll hear the tapping of little feet soon.
After her first woohoo with Mats, Heather checks the ads, as she does every day. The difference is that today her green eyes catch an ad for a Paramedic. She accepts immediately!
And Mats is lucky too, and finds a job as a Team Mascot in the athletics career.
Imogene works only Monday-Thursday in her Business Tycoon job, so Friday she goes to Strängnäs and prepares Boston Pharmacy for the first customers.
And here is the backbone of the pharmacy - the Comfort Soup! Since Imogene is a Family sim she’s able to make that soup, but a lot of people in Birka cannot do it themselves. Therefore, it seems to be an excellent idea to sell it to them!
Now when all other businesses are running pretty smoothly, it’s a bit annoying to start from scratch with the pharmacy, but what can you do?
When Imogene arrives home, the famly takes time for their favoutite pastime - Games!
Then the time comes for the family’s beloved cat Hermione to leave this earth. She has had a long happy life in the Boston household, but now it’s the end.
It’s also the end of the week, so it’s time for Heather and Mats to move to a house of their own.
And now - off to Maryland!
