9.1 The End of an Era

Nov 04, 2010 18:34

Welcome back to Birka for week 9. We start as we always do, with the Stolt family, consisting of:

Maria Stolt, Knowledge, LTW Mad Scientist - acheived. Owner of Club Maggan - level 10
Diana Stolt, Pleasure, LTW Celebrity Chef. Owner of 2Friends restaurant - level 4
Taavetti Ottomas, Popularity, LTW Rock God.
Kickan, the cat.

The household’s net value is 80.590§, which adds up to a weekly tax of 4.030§.

Maria wishes to hire a maid, as she has wanted for a very very long time. Now, finally, she’s allowed to.

Early Monday morning it’s time for the first generation 3 baby for the Stolt family.
It’s a girl, and Diana names her Zarah. She’s hides it well, but she’s got green eyes from her grandfather Christopher and brown hair from her father Taavetti. She is our 27th baby born/adopted in this game!

The birth of Zarah leaves Diana free to go back to work at her restaurant 2Friends.  Vincent, her host, makes an effort to make the guests feel welcome.

It takes only a couple of hours before it reaches level 5, and we have opened a slot in the Culinary career. That, Diana has waited for since her first day as a teen!

Back home, there are no Culinary jobs for Diana, or Musical jobs for Taavetti available, but Maria and Diana have breakfast together, consisting of a cheesecake from Maria’s backpack. I guess she went shopping at Walfridsson's Kolonial.

That night it’s time for Zarah to grow up to toddler. Let the training begin!

All the adults teach Zarah something. Diana did the walking and now the singing.

Finally, Taavetti found a job as a Piano Tuner in the Music career. He starts tomorrow.
Diana finds her desired job, too. She will start as a waitress already today!

Diana gets promoted already on her first day, to Prep Cook!
Diana is fast forwarding her career and comes home promoted to Sous Chef

This will be an eventful evening we suspect...

First Bloomy Ndayeni came visiting. She picked up Zarah from her crib and held her for hours. Is your biological clock ticking, Bloomy?

Second Taavetti gets a promotion to Coffe Shop Sound Technician and gets aware the Kickan hates the pool car.

Then Maria Stolt, founder of the town of Birka, puts a turkey in the oven and is greeted by the Grim Reeper.

She goes in an age of only 70, and leaves behind her daughter Diana, her son Ludde and her three grand-daughters Zarah, Julianne and Kaylynn. The family businesses Club Maggan and 2Friends restaurant are transferred to Diana.

Then the turkey catches on fire.

All this sends Zarah into aspiration failure, and it’s her birthday today! Even this toddler cannot stop thinking about her grandmother. Diana is devastated, too.

Nevertheless, they go through with the celebrations as planned. Zarah is stinking, but noone had the time or energy to bathe her.

She starts her childhood years with a magnificent tantrum. Magnus Norman tries to look the other way, and Diana does. Frank Boston walks away from it all.

For having had such a tough upbringing lately, Zarah is a quite good girl. She plays the piano for many, many hours on Saturday.

Taavetti has no luck, and gets fired from a bad chance card. It was something with an amplifier, he didn’t care much, actually. However, I think if he was a Sims3 sim, he would have the trait Loser. It's the second time he gets fired in this incarnation!

Sunday the winter comes for real, and the small family stays indoors with the Normans. Zarah is gets to know Odd, playing video games with him.
She also meets Quentin, who is actually her uncle, since Diana and Quentin (and his twin Patricia) have the same father

Since the aging rules of Birka are not as restricted as in Mattsmyra, things like this can happen. Diana’s father is probably not many days older than her.

It’s still snowing heavily when Diana comes home from work late in the evening. She is now working as an Executive Chef.

And there we leave the founding family of Birka, and continue to the Normans!
