R.I.P/Memorial to Scott Allan Lanning
I've been meaning to make this post since last sunday and haven't gotten around to it until now.For those of u that don't know,my best friend Windy's husband,Scott,passed away a year ago on march 11.Windy wanted it to be a happy day for the kids,we know its gonna be a sad day but try to make it where its not a dreaded day every year.So we had a cookout here at my house and we let all the kids write little messages and put them in some balloons and let em go.That was a pretty emotional moment,we all cried but then started talking bout him,good times and how funny he was,lil Gage is his twin in every way and tried to make jokes and keep everyone happy.We had a good time in spite of what it was,we all miss him alot.Anyway heres the poem and stuff we had put in the paper...
If Tears Could Build A Stairway
In loving memory of Scott Lanning 7/22/73 to 3/11/06
If tears could build a stairway and memories were a lane,
we would walk right up to heaven and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken,no time to say goodbye,
you were gone before we knew it and only god knows why.
Our hearts still ache in sadness and secret tears still flow,
what it meant to lose you,no one will ever know,but now,we know,
you want us to mourn for you no more.
To remember all the happy times,life still has much in store.
Since you will never be forgotten,we pledge to you today,
a hallowed place within our heart is where you will always stay.
We will always love and remember you.You will never be forgotten.....
