I wasn't able to catch the season finale of Brothers & Sisters last night, so I just finished watching it now. Talk about a consistently first rate television show. I'm going to miss my weekly visits with the endearingly dysfunctional Walker clan over the course of the next 4 months. The whole saying good-bye to Justin scene at the airport got me all teary eyed, but before I knew it I was grinning ear to ear during the show's final scene of the entire family frolicking around in the pool at Kitty and the Senator's engagement party to the amazing Nina Simone.

Life's been super busy during the last month so I still have lots of Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives and Heroes episodes to try and carve some time to watch.

I got my new Rolling Stone in the mail today and as I was leafing through it I gasped (literally) when I stumbled on the blurb that passes as a review for the new Travis disc. Two and a half stars?!? I haven't been able to take the damn thing out of my cd player since I got it the day it was released. There isn't a dud on the entire disc (including the hidden track) so I don't know what the hell disc this reviewer was listening to. As if I needed another reason to wonder why I keep renewing that damn subscription.

A few of us in work joined Weight Watchers 3 weeks ago because we want to try and get sexy by the 4th of July. While that might not be entirely possible, I've still managed to lose 8 pounds. This week my friend Ann and I decided to step it up a bit and we're trying to walk for 45 minutes during lunch every day. So far I'm pleased with my results. Hopefully I can keep up the good work, especially in light of the fact that I have 3 BBQs looming on the horizon this upcoming weekend. I'm not all that worried about the food, but I do plan on drinking like a fish and we all know how fattening booze is.

Last time I posted was the morning that I was scheduled to appear in Supreme Court for the first time. Turns out that I actually did have to argue my boss's motion in front of the judge and every other attorney who just happened to be in the courtroom at the time. Fully anticipating that we would be led in to see the judge's law secretary to discuss the case with, my stomach dropped when the court clerk told myself an opposing counsel to take our seats at our respective tables for oral arguments. To make a long story short, the judge granted Jane's motion based on my oral argument, which was totally unexpected. The minute I got out of the courtroom I called her in Boston to let her know and she was so pleased she told me to take the rest of the day off, which was much appreciated since I was so nervous about the whole ordeal I had been up since 3:30 that morning trying to keep my nerves in check. As a result of my success, Jane gave me the case. I've had two other court appearances on the case since we had oral arguments and each time it gets easier and easier to walk into that damn building and feel like I genuinely belong there instead of feeling completely intimidated and out of my league. We have our next appearance scheduled for 5/31. It looks like the case is going to settle out of court, but opposing counsel and I haven't been able to get together with our clients to negotiate a settlement as of yet so we'll probably end of adjourning the 5/31 date on consent until we have something in writing to present to the judge.

I've been seriously considering splurging on an iPod with some of my tax return money. I don't really need one and, truth be told, I'd probably be too lazy to want to bother with chocking it full of all of my tunes, but I can't help but returning to Amazon on a regular basis to come thisclose to placing an order. Problem is, I have no fucking clue what kind I should get. Anyone have any suggestions?

OK, I'm off to read for a bit before turning in. 4 more days until Kim picks my ass up and hauls it off to Jersey for drunken buffoonery. I can't make it 4 more days.
