Fully enjoying the strawberries in Yokohama that he had always wanted to try when he was a kid
This is a sudden confession but in my parent's house in Yokohama, there is a childhood photo of me crying really hard. In front of the small kid in the photo, there is a mountain of strawberries. Even though I really like strawberries, I could not eat as much as I wanted because I was still a 2 to 3-year-old kid. I was told that I was crying because of frustration (lol). Since I became an adult, I can eat as much as I want. During my university days, I visited the strawberry farm and "hunt" for strawberries enthusiastically on my way back from futsal outings. But recently, rather than eating a large amount of strawberries, I want to try eating high quality strawberries with taste that I have never experienced before!

So, I visited the leisure spot "TOKYO STRAWBERRY PARK" in Tsunami-Ku. It opened in 2018 and this is my first time visiting. They have a big greenhouse which they called "Strawberry Farm" and it seems like once a year, people can go and hunt for strawberries in it. Planning to eat strawberries to my heart's content, I entered the greenhouse. There are red ripe strawberries as far as the eye can see!  I was told that the strawberries that I thought were small and cute are called Tochiotome Strawberries. The bigger ones that look like typical strawberries are called UC Albion Strawberries and they are American strawberries. They are usually the type of strawberry that are placed on top of strawberry shortcakes. They really made me full...

But the one that I liked the most is called "Shindai BS8-9". They are bred by the Agricultural Faculty of Shinshu University and this is my first time hearing of such strawberries. After trying it, I felt that it had a well-balanced taste between sweet and sour.

With a restaurant, a shop, a kitchen and a studio here, it seems like one can enjoy many things at this leisure spot. As I like doing things together with others, I had a fun time hunting for strawberries with the Yokohama Walker's staff this time. But I got told that the pics taken during the shoot were "azatoi"... even though I was just thinking of the situation so that they can take "nice" photos. My members also often tease me by calling me "azatoi", but it really is unintentional! If you say those things are azatoi, then all my members will probably become azatoi (lol).

Putting that aside, it is a new experience for me to go hunting for strawberries in my hometown, Yokohama. Next time during spring, I might go there in private!
