Potato Cross-Talk Hokuto & Juri (2020/05)

Apr 07, 2020 22:54

It is inevitable for you to learn how to read the situation once you have experienced being a Junior!

Hokuto: Since everyone is an adult, there isn’t anyone who can’t read the situation at all right?
Juri: First of all, after you experienced being a Junior, you will end up being able to read the situation naturally. For example, when someone is not able to change his costume and make it on time, we have to cover for him naturally.

Hokuto: Since the main person will be in the very first row, he won’t know about it. So it’s the Junior’s job to cover for the missing person.

Juri: The ones who will be scolded by the choreographer for failing to notice it are Juniors too, afterall. We are trained that way.

Hokuto: Even if we aren’t taught by seniors, we end up learning it naturally. It’s something that is something all Juniors relate to.

Juri: The ones who are not able to read the situation in juniors are either ‘people who can read the situation but choose not to since it’s bothersome’ or ‘someone who is too naive’...like Kishi (Yuta)...(LOL).

Hokuto: Which one is he?

Juri: Naive. Undoubtedly (LOL).

Hokuto: In SixTONES, Juri is someone who reads the situation a lot. You also facilitate the conversation for us.

Juri: On the contrary, Hokuto will purposely not read the situation and act like he isn’t listening to the conversation in order to give sharp comments. That helps a lot in variety shows.

Hokuto: But the variety shows are so difficult.

Juri: I sometimes read the situation too much and am not able to talk at all. I end up thinking maybe I shouldn’t be appearing in those shows. Hokuto is able to enter the talk smoothly and then make himself stand out in a good way in those situations.

Hokuto: I’m nervous while doing that though.

Juri: I will be fine after appearing in the program once though.

Hokuto: That’s because of experience. Juri has definitely appeared in more variety shows than me.

Juri: When you put it like that, I still get really nervous during drama shootings. Especially in the first meetings and script reading. I get so nervous that I feel nauseated (LOL).

Hokuto: Also the crank-in!

Juri: Yes. Greeting people after being introduced as  “He is Tanaka Juri, who will be playing the role of xxxx”. I'm strangely embarrassed when they go, “We will now go set up” after that and the people return to the usual mode immediately.

Hokuto: There are times when we get so nervous during the greetings and we forget all the dialogues we had memorized.

Juri: Right right! (LOL)

Hokuto: Apart from crank in, there are times when we are told “Say something!”

Juri: During the wrap up party and stuff like that. I’m really not good at giving speeches on occasions like that.

Hokuto: But aren’t you pretty good at it?. During the press conference before the concert and stuff like that, we will all turn to Juri if we run into any trouble.

Juri: I’m prepared for those.

Hokuto: I can never wrap up my talk and end up talking incessantly so I’m not suited for things like press conferences.

Juri: Hokuto raises up the excitement in that manner so it’s okay.

There are elephants on the members’ backs after the live concerts!?

Juri: Rather than the atmosphere, there are times when my body feels so heavy. [TN: The theme is ‘Kuuki’, which means air or atmosphere. Earlier on, they were talking about ‘Kuuki wo yomu’ which means reading the situation]

Juri: After we finish a concert, my legs feel so heavy that there are times I feel like I’m carrying an elephant on my back.

Hokuto: I also checked my back to see if I had an elephant on my back.

Juri: There wasn’t one on it?

Hokuto: When I checked the last time, there wasn’t.

Juri: I also feel like there is an elephant on my back from the moment we enter the venue in the morning till the time we get into the spirit of the concert.

Hokuto: Ah~ I understand that a bit.

Juri: I’m pretty sure that the members feel this too. That’s why the members start exercising before the concert recently.

Hokuto: If our bodies are in bad conditions, we will have short breaths and that impacts our singing. After starting to exercise, I feel it has improved a bit.

Juri: There are times when I am unable to move due to the muscle aches caused by those exercises.

Hokuto: I can only say “Work hard” regarding that.

Juri: I am working hard~. Also, can I say one thing honestly?

Hokuto: Go ahead.

Juri: I always hold the mic with my left hand but there are times when my arm is tired from holding the mic, so I sing ballads while holding the mic in my right hand.

Hokuto: ….Ooh….So?

Juri: Even the mic feels so heavy when you dance and sing. It’s the same as how the boxer’s arms start to drop in matches as time passes.

Hokuto: Same as a boxer…..is it?

Juri: Ah, but then if you think of it like that, isn’t it amazing that fans shake the penlights for two and half hours straight!?

Hokuto: They are amazing. They also cheer for us loudly.

Juri: In conclusion, can we say that ‘SixTONES < Boxers < Fans’ ?
Hokuto: I don’t think we need to put boxers there, but I think you are mostly right (LOL).

Hokuto’s current status

My friend, who lives in the US has returned, and I went shopping together with him. He is a fashionable person, and he said he wanted to go to the shop I usually frequent, so I took him to the second-hand shops. The clothes he recommended me by saying “This would suit you.” “This is cute.” are the ones that I wouldn’t have chosen myself. I tried them on since he recommended them, and liked it more than I had expected. I ended up buying that jacket in the end. This kind of encounter (with clothings) is not bad either.

Juri’s current status

I celebrated my friend’s birthday in a restaurant run by someone I know. Around 10 of us gathered and had a blast. But the birthday guy ended up falling asleep after around 30 minutes (LOL). We were together until the morning and went to have breakfast. My friend ate the set meal but I only drank pork soup (LOL). When we went outside, we  saw a really pretty view of the rising sun so I took a picture. It was a very good day overall.
