My mom decided it would be the most awesome time to wake me up at 7:30-8:00, this morning. She thought it was the perfect time to come ranting into my bedroom about how much of a bitch the landlord is.

As you can tell, it has been a yearly and expectant thing for my mom to get us evicted from our place of stay. It has happened, for the past 5 years...every spring/summer.

Apparently, my mom owes Fonda (landlord) over $1,000. According to Fonda that is the amount due, but I, on the otherhand believe that is not the accurate amount. I remember, my mom telling me to pay Fonda via money order...actually, I remember, telling my mom that I didn't trust the other tenant she would give the rent money to, therefore, I was going to pay rent via money order. I remember, that she paid approximately $300-400. I also remember that my mom paid another $350, about two weeks ago. The rent is $475 per month. My mom owes possibly, $650, including the total rent and difference that she could not pay the other few weeks. Unless, my mom decided to do a careless thing and lie to me.

Fonda told my mom that she was going to evict us. I don't know when, but she wants to be one of those cruel, cold, landlords that wants to make the other person look like the bad guy, therefore, she wants to press charges and whatnot because she doesn't want us to be eligible for any other apartment. "I am going to evict you, and I am going to make sure your charges are recorded, that way when you go to rent an apartment, the person renting the apartment to you will see your records and not give you the apartment."
WHAT.THE.FUCK?! Unprofessional, party of one. Your table is now prepared!

My mom thought it would be super for me to put our next place of residence in my name, due to the fact that I do not have credit, therefore, it is not considered "negative" credit, and I would be more than likely to get an apartment much faster than she would; however, I declined her idea.

Pros
1)I will have established credit.
2)The place of residence would be in my name, therefore, if my mom tried kicking me out, I could say "get out of my house, which would give me the upper hand.
3)The apartment/house would be my choice...not hers.

Cons
1) She is incompetent, when it comes to paying bills.....
2) If she fucks up my "credit," I will NEVER speak to her again.
3) I am only 20 years old. Before I think of getting an apartment, I want to get a car and establish credit that way.

The last thing I want is to be homeless. Financially, the family was better off, when we lived in housing. A 3 bedroom apartment was only $350, compared to $475. The total included trash, electricity, parking, and maintenance. My mom doesn't want to move back to the "projects," but at the moment, beggars cannot be choosers, and I am all for it. As long as we have a place to stay, food to eat, a car to drive, and we are content with our lives, then I think, it would be a great idea....temporarily.

Advice would be great....anything would be great.

thank you.
