Oh, perfect timing! I've been scouring J2 college fic to locate a particular scene I remember (no luck so far but it's been enjoyable rereading everything) and this will make it SO much easier!

Alrighty! It has similarities to a number of stories, but I'll find it eventually--it's been bugging me that I can't remember where it belongs (if I really can't locate it, I can hit storyfinders). The scene is this one: Jared had moved in with Jensen and his friends in college, and had recently discovered his orientation. He had a crush on Jensen but Jensen was a bit of an ass and shot him down. Jared goes out with someone (possibly named Paul?) who nearly assaults him in his parked car. Jared walks home. Everyone else is out except Jensen, and Jensen is concerned even though Jared pretends everything is okay.

Hrmm. The first story that came to my mind was Crush (by dutch-chick674), because it sounds kinda similar, but I'm pretty sure that's not the right one. Yours does sound really, really familiar, though... let me give it some more thought.

ps. In all your searching, have you stumbled across any college roommate stories that aren't on this list? If yes, I'd really like to read them-- I *love* college fic (especially where they're roommates). :D

I love Mildred! I've reread that story so many times. (You're right though, it's not a roommate story-- just a college one. I have it on that list.)

Ha! I opened my email and was all "... the fuck?" for a second. But I'm loving your edit spam-- so many awesome new (to me) stories to read! I read The Sealgaire and The Dragan this morning and absolutely LOVED IT.

And I've never read that akintay story (which is weird, because I love her stuff), so I'm extra glad you found the story you were looking for! Yay!
