People keep asking me that. Oh, but not for the usual reasons. (Yes, that's still happening.)
Since getting canned form my job last Friday, I have been hard at work this week. Yes, my last official day is March 2nd, but most people are wondering why I'm doing any work at all. It's a legit question. I have my reasons:
a.) Personal integrity. I have some stuff that needs finishing up. I'm not gonna just drop the ball. I'm a better person than that. I ultimately answer to -=me=- and I have some standards, you know.
b.) I'm going out in style. I'd like to leave here with some portion of a decent reputation intact. Burning bridges by just telling my soon-to-be-past employer to go pound sand could, at best, do nothing to help my career.
c.) Me dropping the ball would only hurt my coworkers/peers. These folks are my friends, and it's going to be tough enough for them to pick up the workload when I'm gone. I have no desire to make them suffer. They're good folk.
So, while "sticking it to the man" might sound fun, and I know you'd love to watch, Goliath ain't gonna feel it anyway. I couldn't really hurt them if I wanted to. Do I? Sure. I know you do, too. But we're all bigger than that.
So, if you know of a company who wants somebody who busts their ass like I do, reach out and touch me. I'm on the market.
Oh, and thanks for asking.
