learning

In ratio to the amount of time i have been in college, i wonder what percentage of the time that i have actually been doing academic related things.  If i had to guess, it would probably be around... i don't know, five percent.  Yet, to my astonishment, I still learn valuable things everyday. Not that this university doesn't teach me valuable things everyday, I'm not trying to say that i don't need this university.  I'm just saying that i can still learn things in a non scholastic way.

How do i manage to achieve this mind blowing, yet entirely unimpressive endeavor? Different ways. Two big things lately have been the leading causes of my "non academic" learning.  Like i sad, these are leading causes, not sole causes. There are many others.  Anyway. the two leading causes are Michael, and Circle K.

Michael tends to take things that i do, or believe and just change them in a second.  He has taught me so much, especially about the value of family. He is unbelievably dedicated to his family life.  I don't know if its because of the death of his father, or his culture, or the way he was brought up, or a combination on the three.  No matter, it's charming.  He loves his family in a way that i have never seen before.  Its beautiful.  I have begun to display that toward my family because family is priceless, and i should cherish them for as long as i can. He opens my eyes to new things everyday.

Circle K provides me with opportunities that i wouldn't have otherwise. it has given me experience  with leadership and given me chances to meet people and participate in things whom i would have never gotten to meet or participate in before. i get so much hands-on involvement that is so precious.  I highly suggest that everyone volunteer. It will make you do things that will amaze even you, and meet characters that will change your life.

Advice for the day?  Keep an open mind, and learn everything you can.
