I just finished assembling my very first loaf of black bread, which is currently rising under a dish towel on top of the stove. I'm on a bit of a Russian kick. Writing up a new Abberant character who is Russian got me to talking to Zeriel about Russian culture, history and customs, and I'm fascinated. I've had trouble with the cookies turning out to be too soft. Was that your trouble, too?

Ohhhh yeah. Perhaps I'll have better luck now that it's not so humid?

I actually increased the baking time, then let them firm up on the cookie sheet for about 5 minutes before putting them on a cooling plate. No matter what you do, they'll still be quite soft, but at least doing that helps.
