What have I been up to?

I've been trying to knit the same sock (yes. sock. singular. kill me.) for the past week and a half. I keep making mistakes in the lace and having to frog most of it. One of Nana and Pap's friends from church (who i remember fairly well from when I was a tot) just began a round of chemo, and Nana asked if I would knit her a pair of socks. Apparently this particular type of chemo makes one's feet get cold.
I really just want this pattern to stop hating me. Not to be cynical, but when the patient is a woman in her eighties... my money's on the cancer. I'd like her to be able to enjoy her handknit socks.

Went to have my blood work done this morning. I'll do the x-rays and the ekg another day; I wasn't in the mood.
My mother says that Scott the PA should have told me to cut back on my salt intake and exercise more, instead of giving me drugs and lab work. In regard to my blood pressure, that is. I dunno. I was really surprised that he didn't tell me to loose weight. -I'm going to start to do that anyway; I'm a fucking fatass.  Slav and I are thinking of switching doctors, but I think I'll hold off on that decision until I see how my follow-up goes next month.

So.. yeah. Time for a Shrink the j00 project. I'll bitch and moan and be cranky, so just ignore me.

Watched 'Cloverfield' t'other night, and was pleasantly surprised. Think a Blair Witch-like take on the "monster eats Manhattan" theme, and subtract the suck.

Been plotting/outlining/brainstorming for NaNo, and I'm feeling a smidge optimistic about it.

Been listening to a lot of Counting Crows.

I'm also REALLY itching to get my tattoo started. I followed up with the dude shortly after Yom Kippur, and he said the shop has been swamped of late. I don't know if he even looked at the stuff I'd brought in before.  On one hand, I really want to at least get some idea of he's doing with the design. On the other, is it really a good idea to pester the guy who's going to be abraiding my skin with needles and ink?

That's about it. How are you?

tattoos, movies, random, writing
