To which I say, "Fuck you, I paid you $5000 for tuition, I'm going to eat my $2 muffin. Jam it, fuckweed."

I noticed in that article there was no mention of how it's to be enforced or any sort of punitive element. it won't last long. Professors like to eat & run, too.

Fortunately, it looks like Astro is the only class with a useless textbook this semester. Usually, you'll need 'em for languages, math, and such.

See, the book isn't useless. You can hollow it out and do 5oz of hard "studying."

PSU needs to stop playing parent. These students aren't in high school any more, maybe if they're treated like adults they'll start acting that way.
Hear, hear!

Man, I don't understand some peoples' aversion to accents. I love them. I usually have to restrain myself from saying "TALK MOAR <3"

If I'm following this story correctly, the problem is that the students weren't acting like responsible adults and, as a result, had to be treated like kids.

So... At what point is it proper to impose rules to reverse behavior?

I've not been a student for 14 years, so I'm rather removed from the situation. Was it as bad as has been reported or are we talking isolated incidents?

Isolated incidents. Has to be. I'm in computer labs all the time & all I see are the occasional Collegian left around that a billion people will read before it's tossed. Most of us will see the detritus of former occupants & go toss it.
