So, tonight, instead of doing my laundry like I should have, instead I spent a number of hours on creating a skirt. I reverse engineered the pattern from a skirt I made about 6 years ago. I can find every other pattern I've ever made, except for that one! So, I recreated it. But to my horrors, the fabric is not quite like it should, and after sewing the thing together, I discover a black spot on the front, and that the fabric's grain is not as I suspected. As such, two of my seams look horribly stressed, and I have a black spot I don't know that I can remove. It is too late tonight to spend time in the bathroom hand-washing this thing, and it is not stable enough to put into the washing machine yet (not all my seams have been sealed properly). Oh, and my hem needs to be totally redone. The amount of twists and turns! I don't remember hems being this difficult! But oh my, this skirt is going to be pretty when it's done! I hope it works!!!
So now I have to try to find something "clean" to wear to work tomorrow, as it is far too late to do laundry in the parents' house. And besides, I need to get to bed. My eyes are about to close.
Crafts are becoming my escape... (and my way to update my wardrobe when I don't agree with what's in the shops!)
