I think, therefore I am - A journal entry from philosophy class

Happy Halloween! It is officially the last day of my favorite month. No Yankees championship, but a good month non the less.

So it's quite safe to say that my birthday didn't turn out half bad.

The most exciting thing was the SURPRISE PARTY Jenn threw me on Saturday. I can't say enough good things about how Jenn planned this, how much it meant to me to have all my friends together, or that Jenn definitely was a big person by having the party at Kat and Hannah's. Simply said, I was clueless and had a great time once I was there. Leanne even came up from Maryland, Kat came with Val, my roommates were all there, Greg, Morgan, Elliot, Jared, Gillman, everyone!

Furthermore, the whole week was spent by people making me feel special and A LOT of awesome presents. I got:

1. A mitch albom book from jessie that i already finished
2. a nice picture of jessie and me
3. $250 for AC from my parents
4. A BluecLaws championship shirt from my parents
5. the edge reimbursement check from my parents
6. 2 philosophy books from Jenn (one of which I already started)
7. Kat and Hannah are taking me out to eat at El Vez
8. Jenn took me out for dinner
9. Talia came to Temple, took me out for some drinks
10. Shayn even got me a card and some cash

So yea, that is all awesome. My friends took me out for my actual birthday, and since i was such a complainer, i'm still having a small party for my b-day next month of everyone from home.

Jenn and my anniversery was great also. I think we are on a really good path and we have isolated our problems and know that we can solve them when the time comes, which is important.

My race is Saturday, I'm scared, but I've done the 3 miles, so I know I can do it. I think my adreneline will carry me through. I just don't want to embarass myself too much (I'm hoping for a time around 32 minutes).

One thing to note, Cat called on my birthday. She acted as if nothing was wrong, as if our last conversation had not happened. I was cordial, but like many interactions with Cat, it just made me sad and think of what was, and what could be.

Otherwise, things are good. Really good. A lot of fun things are coming up, a couple of concerts, sporting events, etc.

My classes I'm doing very well in, and have a solid chance of a 4.0 for the semester. I LOVE my finance in sport class (great guest speakers every week, cool assignments, good textbook to read) and am not looking forward to ending it.
