Title: It starts with a kiss
Pairing: Quinn/Rachel
Rating: M ;D
A/N: There's probably loads of typos. It's 3am, I'm bloody knackered D:

When Rachel arrives at Quinn's house, she's 2 hours early. She knocks hard on the door with tears in her eyes. Quinn opens the door frowning, wondering who it is. Then she notices the smaller girl.

"Rach? You're early. Like... really early." Quinn's hair is wet and she's only wearing a towel.

"Can I come in?" Rachel asks quietly. Quinn wordlessly steps aside, giving her room to come in. Quinn takes her upstairs to her bedroom, where Rachel plants herself on the huge bed, and Quinn chooses to sit by her desk, holding her towel to her chest.

"Do you want me to wait downstairs while you get dressed?" She asks quietly. Quinn shook her head no.

"What's wrong, Rach?" She asks gently, seeing the tears threatening to spill past Rachel's lashes.

"Are you really interested in me? I mean, what's going on with us?" She asks, putting Quinn on the spot.

"I'm not sure what's going on between us," Quinn starts cautiously. "I thought that's what we were going to talk about tonight,"

"Well, I'm here now. Lets talk." Rachel says a little defensively. Quinn sighs softly, because her plan is going terribly. She pulls her towel around her body more securely, and stands up.

"Come downstairs," Quinn almost took the small brunette's hand, but she decides against it.

The two girls walk downstairs in silence, into Quinn's kitchen, where the smell of food almost overwhelmed Rachel. But they don't stop, they walk through the kitchen into the dining area, where Quinn has candles ready to be lit.

"Quinn..." Rachel didn't know what to say. Was this a date?

"Could you stay here for a sec?" Rachel just nods and takes a seat. Quinn disappears upstairs for at least twenty minutes, and then Rachel can hear her pottering about in the kitchen. A further ten minutes, and finally, Quinn walks in with two plates of food that looks and smells delicious. But not anywhere close to how delicious Quinn looks tonight. She's wearing a black dress, hugging her curves in all the right places. It ends just above her knees, Rachel notes, as her eyes skim over those long legs. She's wearing black suede heels to match. Rachel swallows sharply.

"I wish I hadn't come over without getting changed first," She chokes out. Quinn just smiles, placing the plate in front of her.

"You look really good, Rach." Quinn reassures her as she takes a seat. The brunette smiles in response. They tuck into their food, talking about their day, and other unimportant things.

"Wow Quinn, you're a really good cook," Rachel says, looking at her empty plate. Quinn roles her eyes.

"It's just chicken and a salad," She smiles.

"Mhm. You don't give yourself enough credit." The blonde says nothing, just takes the plates out to the kitchen.

While Quinn's in the kitchen, she panics a little. She forgot to ask something. So she pops her head around the door and asks.

"What kind of cake do you like? I made a lot."

"Oh, you bake too?" Rachel grins. "You'd make the perfect wife." She says without thinking. Shit. "I... I mean, not for me... Well, not that I wouldn't want you... I mean, I do. Well, not right now... Or maybe ever. But maybe. I don't... I don't know," She finishes weakly. Quinn supresses a giggle and just disappears into the kitchen again. Rachel kicks herself. God, she's so stupid.

"You didn't answer," She calls into the dining room. "About the cake."
"Oh... erm. I like chocolate." Quinn made chocolate, white chocolate and ice cream cake. She was well prepared. And slightly neurotic when it came to perfection. She set the plate in front of her... friend. Or whatever.

"Thanks," Rachel says politely, feeling so incredibly awkward.

As they ate their cake, Rachel finally brought up the subject they had been avoiding all night. She asks quietly, "What are we doing here? I mean... is this a date?" Quinn thought it over. Dating is a big deal. Kissing can just be excused by calling it a teenage experiment. Dating is a bigger thing. She doesn't even want to have this talk, this stupid conversation about emotions and feelings. But she looks into Rachel's dark eyes searching her own, and she can't just hurt her. She can't just deny it.

"I wanted to do something..." She clears her throat nervously. "I wanted to do something romantic." She blushes. "It's a date. If you want it to be." Rachel blushes too, and looks down at her cake.

"You're really cute, Quinn." She tells the blonde quietly. Rachel's tongue swipes across her lower lip as she hesitates about what she's about to say. "I really like you."

Quinn's heart catches in her throat, and this feeling spreads through her. A smile pulls at her lips, and she can't resist it. She smiles shyly. No one's ever said that to her before. It seems a little surprising, considering she's the head cheerleader, most popular girl in the school, all of that. But people, mostly boys, don't see her as someone with feelings. She supposes that Rachel sees past that.

"Come with me," Quinn takes her hand and guides her upstairs. They don't say anything as they reach Quinn's bedroom, because neither girl knows what they're really doing there. But Quinn makes the first move. She cups Rachel's cheek gently, giving the brunette butterflies. Quinn still hesitates, but she feels brave with Rachel. She dips her head a little, so she can reach the shorter girl. Their lips brush against eachother's softly as they breathe, but she can't stand it anymore. Quinn captures the smaller girl's full lips gently.

Their kiss is slow, languid. It makes Rachel's stomach go crazy with butterflies. She needs more. Like, right now.

She traces Quinn's lower lip with her tongue slowly, making the blonde's knees go weak.

"God, Rach," She mumbles against the brunette's lips. Rachel smiles against Quinn's soft lips.

Rachel tentatively pushes Quinn back onto her bed. Quinn quickly gets the idea and sits herself down. The brunette straddles her lap, and they pull eachother into a kiss again. Rachel's hands are resting on Quinn's shoulders, while Quinn's hands are holding Rachel's hips.

The kiss deepens, and Quinn feels herself getting a little heated. She pulls Rachel's hips against her firmly, making Rachel gasp quietly against the blonde's lips. Quinn's confidence grows. She bites Rachel's lower lip, before replacing it with a gentle kiss.

"Quinn," Rachel breathes.

"Hm?" Quinn's lips are now on Rachel's neck, pressing light kisses against the soft skin there.

"I really need you," She whispers, closing her eyes. Quinn smiles against the smooth skin she's kissing.

In a quick motion, Rachel's laying on the bed beneath her, and Quinn's straddling her hips.

"Are you sure about this, Rach?" She whispers. Rachel whimpers quietly.

"Please, Quinn. I need you." Quinn needs no further instruction.
