(no subject)
OK well that didn't last long. My re-immersion into FFXI. I missed it like crazy while it was down for the Japan disaster but the day it came online again I played maybe...2 hrs? 3-4 hrs the next day due to driving an event...for others, not myself.
It's like pulling teeth to get the LS as a group to do ANYTHING!!! This event was for the zone boss of Grauberg -- Amphitrite. 4-5 ppl still needed it (1 didn't show up online...if fact he's shown up once for like 15 mins since servers came back up) so we started grouping. Someone heard a shout in Port that another group was wanting to do the ZB of Grauberg also so we arranged to join them. They kept shouting for more ppl for about 45 mins. Finally, 18 strong (and me thinking omg) we set off to whoop up on this mob that can be/should be done with the 6 we were going with.
Well...the leader of the 2nd group decided that he wanted to do the T3 VNM in the area first. So they track down and gather together the group for the Maere. It wasnt a bad fight. Got the colors proc'd and I lotted the shadow belt that dropped and won it :) Will be an asuran fists ws item only...
Now on to Amphitrite...
If you know this mob its a biotch! Switches between absorbs physical dmg to absorbs magic before you can blink. Some stage it absorbs both (I think...at least it was showing hits healing it along with magic). I went MNK/DNC using 2 HP atmas (Ebon Hoof and Sanguine Scythe) along with Apoc atma ...(I knew I would die...alot). 4500+ HP and yes, I died alot. At one point I HP'd and changed sub to warrior. 50 mins and -20k xp later the fuker finally croaked. I personally think it died of boredom but it might have been DoTs...will never know. and I will NEVER do that mob with that large a group again LOL
We proc'd all colors on it but it had went yellow so many times during the fight we didnt dream it would drop anything...I just wanted it DEAD at this point. It did drop: Aqua Sachet, 1 ea Jewel of wieldance/Card of wieldance. I lotted the card and won -- 2/6 now :( Why are those so hard to get?!? It's the only +2 item I need still for ninja.
Then the LS group went and beat up Diablos Prime. TA (Thank Altana) for Empty...he saved the day by a well-time ws. 4/6 of us were dead atm LOL +15k gil for the win lol
The next day (Sunday) I got on the game for about an hour. Supposed to have an event doing Divine Might for a few that needed it. The person who had the KI didn't show tho...
I haven't been back on the game since...*sighs* At first glance Abyssea was great. But now its...meh. I need to get the xp I lost on MNK back but don't feel like it. The LS has nice people but we aren't a group ifyaknowwhatimeanvern...
