Room 406, afternoon to evening

Monday hadn't been a bad day, what with having coffee with Xander and visiting Jarod at Caritas. But Revolutions shook Isabel up a little more then she would have liked. So she returned to her room and curled up on her bed to watch something mindless on the laptop.

Sometimes after River, Jack stopped by Isabel's room, carrying a box under one arm.

He tapped gently, not wanting to risk waking her if she was napping.

"It's open," she called out as she sat up.

He slipped inside, and smiled at her. "What are you watching?" he asked, setting the box next to her on the bed.

"Just some Monty Python," Isabel shrugged. "It's amusing." She picked up the box and looked at it, understanding at once what it was for. "Thank you."

"You're welcome." Jack shrugged, looking pleased. "It's beautiful, anyway. How are you doing?"

"It is. It'll help. Thank you," she repeated, reaching up to hug him, if she held on a little tightly, for a little longer then usual, Isabel was sure Jack wouldn't mind.

"I had my first class today. It was hard," she admitted. "Mostly because of the subject matter. But it was good to see Bel. And Bridge, Sam and Parker, they all were looking out for me."

Far from minding, he hugged her tightly. "Was that a good thing or a bad thing?" he asked, imagining that it could get a bit wearing.

"It wasn't bad actually," Isabel admitted. "They didn't push. Just tried to distract me and make me smile."

"Hey!" Jack dropped to sit next to her and nudged her with his elbow. "Isn't that my job?"

[izzyalienqueen]

"It is. But since you can't be with me constantly, they were picking up the slack," she smiled. "I bet it gave you a chance to rest up for your thingies."

Jack laughed, looking way too satisfied, and stretched out his legs. "Resting. Yup, that's what I spent the day doing."

"Yeah, sure," Isabel said dryly, recognizing the look. "I don't have to ask if you enjoyed yourself. You're oozing smugness."

"Sorry," he said, making an effort to be less smug. "I did get some rest, though, so it wasn't a total lie."

[izzyalienqueen]

"Good. Otherwise you are going to have to do a schedule to give you a day of rest," she smiled. "Either that or I'll just keep you here."

"I can stay," he said, immediately kicking off his shoes and setting the box on the floor. "I don't have anywhere to be until tonight."

"Oh? Big plans?" Isabel leaned back against the wall, settling comfortably in the spot next to him. "And what are you doing after class on Thursday?"
