They'd done what they'd set out to do. The angels were trapped.

Now it was just a matter of waiting.

Isabel hated waiting.

The door was closed.

Not too long after Isabel picked up the phone, Wyatt orbed into Isabel's room.

Isabel had had her head down as she rubbed her eyes. Three days with minimal sleep had them feeling like they were coated in sandpaper. But suddenly she just knew.

Looking up, she dropped the phone and just stared.

"Hi," Wyatt said quietly, because any thoughts of a witty opening line fled his mind upon seeing Isabel. "I'm back."

Isabel was still with the staring, afraid it was just a dream.

Except he was real and he was standing there.

Forgetting all about Parker on the phone, Isabel got to her feet and slowly reached out to touch him.

Wyatt reached out and pulled her into his arms. It had been nine months since he'd held her and he still almost couldn't believe she was here.

At some point Isabel would probably rediscover her vocal cords, but that hadn't happened yet. Instead there was clinging. And running her hands through his hair. And kissing. Lots of kissing.

Wyatt missed the kissing, too. "Missed you so much," he murmured, never wanting to let her go.

There were any number of romantic declarations she could have made at this point. "You dumbass," accompanied by a punch to Wyatt's chest was not one of them.

It should be noted that she still kept kissing him.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Wyatt said between kisses. "We thought it would just be a quick orb to the preserves, but it's like it was waiting for us there. . . ."

"It was. That's what they did," Isabel told him, pulling back just enough to check him for injuries even though that shouldn't be an issue. "But not anymore. We stopped them." Which made her realize something. "Chris. You need to call Chris now."

Wyatt shook his head. "I can't call, I have to see him," he said. "Can you live without me for ten minutes? Or you can come with me."

"I know that feeling," she nodded. "Go. But hurry back. In the meantime I'll get cleaned up."

Wyatt kissed her again, reluctant to let her go, but he needed to see Chris, too. He orbed a floor down to his brother's room to let him know he was okay, and to assure himself Chris was fine as well, then orbed back to Isabel's room.

Isabel had done just what she said she would. Cleaned up, changed into some comfy pajamas, turned down the bed and climbed in. Except the lack of sleep was starting to catch up with her. The smile she gave Wyatt when he orbed back in was interrupted by a huge yawn.

"Sorry. I haven't slept much since you were taken."

"What day is it?" Wyatt asked, sitting on the edge of the bed. "I didn't bother to find out before I orbed down here. The only stop I made was to drop Savannah off at Johnny's room."

"Sunday night," she said quietly. "It was the longest three days of my life."
