Thank God for my Becky and Beli

Apr 30, 2008 00:00

So, kharma decided that I had stolen enough and yesterday took our free unsecured connection away. We're not sure if they didn't pay their bill or just up and moved or what. It didn't become secured it just disappeared all together. So I wasn't even able to use IP Relay if I needed to make any phone calls and was truly lost to the world for all of yesterday. I drove across the street and found a different unsecured internet to get an email out to my family that they could no longer rely on my email address of AIM to get ahold of me and if there was an emergency and they needed to get me they were going to need to call my sister and she'd just have to come over to my house or something. Well, my Becky wasn't having that and her and Frank decided that after their date night they were going to drive over and lend me their daughter's cell phone (she's still pretty young so hopefully it didn't destroy her social existance too much) well thank god they did this.

Tonight at about 9:45p as I was rocking Ethan to sleep someone stuck a key in the door and started to try to turn the key to get in. I looked over at the microwave (my only clock right now) to see what time it was because I felt like it was way too early to be Tyler and saw that it was only 9:45. Sprout started to bark then Bean barked and they both ran to the door and put their paws up on it. Then the person took their key out and that's all I heard. But I was terrified because I knew it wasn't Tyler, his car wasn't outside and it was too early to be him and no one else has a key (at least that I know) to our apartment other than management.... omg.. I freaked out... I picked up Becky's phone and called Tyler to ask him to come home early because of how scared I was. I didn't see anyone out of the peep hole but I was afraid to look out the glass door. Then as he was on the way I called my sister who luckily was right down the street on her way home from an errand.

So my sister came home and Tyler came home early. But she stayed with me on the phone till she got here and stayed till Tyler got home. I was seriously rattled. I hate living here. I've never felt more unsafe than I do right now. It doesn't help that the cops are always in our complex or some of the questionable crap I see as I walk the dogs every day. My sister thinks it was probably just someone who was too drunk and got thr wrong apartment. Becky thinks the same and that the dog barking clued them in that they were at the wrong apartment. but omg. so frightening.. especially all alone with the baby and thinking what I would have done if I only had my disconnected cells.. I would have probably just jumped the gun and called 911 and looked like a total asshat when they didn't find anyone by the time they got here.. *sigh* anyways.. on the bright side.. .the wireless internet is back... I don't know for how long.. but I'm not going to hold my breath and thank god for becky and beli
