Dream of a place called home

It's done. I have the scimitar in my possession. It was not an easy task. When I said we were going up into the mountains I didn't know it was going a remake of the Donnor party excursion. I was beginning to contemplate killing him and claiming a bear got him or something. I just wasn't sure if they have bears in the Carpathians. Anyways we got to one of the little villiages, and started asking around about the people we were looking for. Cept' Ethan is as subtle as a brick upside your head. He stupidly asked outright about them. I could tell that they were wary and not at all interested in sharing info. I had to restrain myself from hitting him. After thanking to nice people, I pulled Ethan away and told him he was a moron and gonna blow this whole gig.

The problem with small villiages is that you stick out like a sore. They are so stranger phobic, and Ethan spouting off out true reason for being up here was like putting a neon sign above our heads saying don't talk to the crazy foreigners. I was beginning to think that we were gonna have to try another town and hope that no one from the town we were in would have beat us there. We were talking strategy in a little wooded area outside of the the villiage when a boy approached us asking if we were looking for the Rom that could hide themselves. Yup, that sounded about right. He said that his dad did business with them from time to time. That they didn't like outsiders. We asked him if he could tell us where his dad goes to do business, he didnt know. We asked him if he could bring his dad out to us, so we could talk to him away from everyone in town. He went to fetch him. The dad was a little torqued and a little afraid. He didn't want it getting back to the people for fear they would stop doing business with him. I broke out the cash offered to pay enough to keep him and his family comfortable for a few years without the business from the Rom and a promise not to let on that he was the one who told us. He looked at Ethan hesitantly, and I told him in what little Rom I know what I would do to Ethan if he busted the business man. Figured if he had been working with the Rom all this time he could understand what I meant. He kinda laughed a bit, and told us the how to find the secret villiage.

It was nice to be able to seal a deal knowing that I was gonna have to do the subservant crap once we got to the Rom villiage. So we get to this place by a river and Ethan has to say this thing and poof the villiage appears. Like Brigadoon or something. So Ethan asks to see the head guy. And theres this big meeting and I'm standing behind Ethan, whispering stuff I observe, trying not to draw attention to myself. Ethan came straight out and asked for the scimitar. For once he got the right strategy. The head guy asked why he wanted it. Ethan told him that he wanted to use it against the Count. Which interested head guy muchly, though he covered well. He asked Ethan what he had to offer in trade. The only thing Ethan could come up with off the top of his head was magic. Magic favors. Heh, I never would have thought to go that route. But the head guy was liking that idea alot. So they worked some sort hocus pocus trade. Don't ask me the details cause they lost me when they started talking about spells. Whatever. Make no nevermind to me. The head guy sent someone to fetch the sword. And Ethan and I made our exit. Once safely outside the villiage I made him hand it over to me. All the while hoping he would just try and double cross me, cause that would have been fun to smack him down for that. Alas he was a good boy and handed it over. We parted ways after that. I made my way back the inn we stayed at in the foothill and crashed for a bit. Gonn try calling Penn here, in a minute. I was thinking of asking him to come get me. I don't want to abuse the 'porting abilities, but I want to go home like now!
