Disclaimer: Make no money and mean no harm. This is NOT real, Lily Loveless I know you are straight (calm down girl) Kat Prescott, we both know you're a big Muffmuncher (so enjoy). But, seriously, this is a piece of fiction.
They celebrate on the first Friday being back in Bristol and as odd as it sounds, it feels a lot like coming home. Jack and Kaya to her left, his arm around her shoulder, tenderly stroking her hair as she laughs softly into his neck. Ollie to her right chattering about a new band that reminds him of Rush to Meg.
"Like the drug?" She hears Meg ask the curly haired boy, who stares at her so seriously, his eyes comically wide, she can't help but laugh. Kat, sitting across from her, furiously texting and chatting with the group in sync.
"Lily can you pass the salt." Luke is looking at his salad like it’s a burger and fries, she wants to remind him that he is, indeed a man and he watches his weight better than half the women she knows. Instead she smiles at him and passes it into his large hands, knowing she has six months to make fun of his eating habits. Kat looks up briefly and smiles at her, like she knows what Lily is thinking.
Lily sighs, looking at Kat, she is home.
The bass in the club is insane; Lily can feel her chest vibrating with the hard pump of the music. She dances pressed against Meg and Merve, she feels buzzed and mellow as their warm bodies press into hers. She hears Meg yell she's going to get a drink and she feels the warmth leave her back, only shortly after to be replaced by someone bolder, their arms tugging her hips back into their front, she fits quite nicely into the body of the small person behind her and it isn't until she hears the owner of those hands that she feels her body heat spike. "Dr.Loveless." rasped into the back of her neck, just below the ear, the skin heating unnecessarily hot as Kat's nose brushes it.
She turns around and the redhead’s arms only loosen enough for her to turn before they tighten again, pulling her flush into her body.
"Where have you been?" Lily knows Kat's voice is going to be shot the next day.
"Right here KitKat." Kat smiles brilliantly at the name. She sees her eyes flutter close and her head drops back, Lily feels everything blur in her vision until Kat is the only thing in focus, her hands on Lily's hips, her pulse hammering into Lily's chest, she's never seen anything so beautiful.
So very unattainable, because shortly after, Kat pulls away and winks like its nothing. She walks off and repeats the same thing she did with Lily, with someone else.
They are all fairly trashed when they get back to the hotel, Kat leaning heavily against Luke as they walk towards their rooms, she takes over for him as they reach his door.
"You sure?" He asks as he's already passing her over, the redhead looping her arms around Lily's waist.
"Dr.Loveless takes good care of me lucky Luke, don't you worry, she's a much better gentleman than you are." Kat's slurring words are muffled into Lily's skin, but the heat of Kat’s breath on her neck turns icy cold when Kat’s drunken ramblings make sense.
"Well Miss Prescott I still to this day believe you took advantage of me." He reaches forwards and brushes a lock of hair behind her ear in such a drunkenly tender gesture, that Lily is happy that they’re both too sloshed to see how pale she's gotten, see her hands shaking. Luke pulls back and rests his lean body against the door.
"Goodnight ladies." His smile is huge and Lily tries to smile back, but it feels more like a grimace than anything else.
"Night Luke." Her voice is very quite as she pulls Kat down the hallway. Luke and Kat, Luke and Kat, Luke and Kat her mind echo's harshly.
"Lily, Lily, Lily, what am I going to do with you?"
Lily ignores her as she asks for her key card. Kat answers with her purse, but it slips off her shoulder as she reaches for it, Lily has to lean Kat on the wall as she digs through Kat's bag to find it.
"Do you have the whole shitting universe in here?"
Lily spends the next few moments throwing the more useless shit onto the floor and Kat's bag is massive, not Naomi proportion big, but large enough that a slob like Kat has enough room to make it impossible to find something. She is so involved in the bag, that she doesn't notice the redhead staring until she's spoken to.
"Why did you kiss me like that?"
Lily's head snaps towards the woman leaning with her back pressed into the wall and she looks so much like Emily in this moment, staring at her in an open and naively hungry way that it makes Lily's chest hurt. Her hand closes over the key card a moment later and she pretends like she didn't hear the question at all.
"Well then?"
Lily pulls the reluctant redhead into the room, pushing her softly onto the foot of the bed and feels her temper flair unexpectedly at the look on Kat's face.
"Why are you fucking Pass?" Her voice is harsher than she intended it to be and she regrets her words when she sees Kat's surprise, her own surprise will come later, when it matters less.
"I'm not-" Kat looks terribly overwhelmed as she tries to sober herself up.
"Never mind, it’s none of my fucking business." She pauses to rub the bridge of her nose.
"You'll be fine then, wont you?"
She’s halfway out the door when she hears Kat call out her name, but all she can think of is Luke's hands groping up Kat's naked body, it makes her slam the door harder than she intended as she stalks down the hall, passing Meg, who looks so much like Kat sometimes that she can't help but send her a glare that says, ‘don't even fucking start’.
But Meg, lovely Meg, just holds up the half empty bottle of vodka in her hand long enough for Lily to grab it as she walks by.
"Want some company?" The lisps the only thing that keeps Lily from saying no, in the state she's in, it’s one of the only ways she'll be able to tell them apart. She turns to Meg and nods, Meg is smarter than anyone gives her credit for and follows silently.
It's not until the bottle's almost empty that Meg starts talking from the foot of her bed, her feet beside Lily's head.
"You like my sister." It's not a question, but it's asked so softly that Lily can't lie, not to Meg, who is a much better friend than she remembers.
"Yes, I think I do." It feels odd finally admitting it, after trying so hard to make it seem like she was the straight one, unlike Kat who doesn't try very hard at all. She thinks that Kat really doesn't have anything to lose, not in this day in age and more importantly with the looks that she does, Lily on the other hand has everything to lose, because if she's learned anything from skins, it’s that people will never stop disappointing you, fucking you up and fucking you over.
Megan stays impossibly quiet and still, her soft breathing putting Lily into a lazy state.
"She doesn't even see me." Lily whispers into the air.
"She sees you better than you think."
"Then why doesn't she-"
"Because she's a right fucking cunt." Meg sighs, pausing for a moment. "Or maybe she's just afraid."
She dreams of Meg on a thrown, leopard print on the seating.
