I tag everyone who is so inclined. Useless and random information incoming!!
01. Make a list of 5 things you can see without getting up. My red loveseat. My television. My Velvet Goldmine art above the tv. G's lovely round bum. A Planter's peanut can.
02. How do you style your hair? Now that summer has descended in all its evil, smothering wrath, my hair is always pulled back. It's a lazy, non-cute look, but it's necessary when stepping outside feels like stepping into a steamroom.
03. Who did you want to be as a child? Cinderella. This has not changed.
04. What's your ringtone? I'm between phones at the moment, but I'm planning on using "Hedwig's Theme." Such a beautiful, haunting melody, with just the right touch of menace and mystery. I have the worst time recognizing my ringtones (I'm not a big cell phone use anyway), but I could pick "Hedwig's Theme" out of the noisiest din.
05. What do you hear right now? The clink of ice in an old fashioned and Oz on the television. (Christopher Meloni OM NOM NOM.)
06. What's your favorite guilty pleasure treat? More than one Coca-Cola a day. I resolved a long time ago not to feel guilty about most foodie treats.
07. What are you thinking about right now? Chocolate cake.
08. Are you still in contact with the first person you met/friended on LJ? I remember coming to LJ around the same time as
temple_mistress ,
luscious_sarah ,
aislinn_tredor , and
xtinethepirate in our migration from ff.net. And we're all still friends. : D
09. Dog person or cat person? Both. More a dog person, but my
special liddle bebbeh Lord Vader definitely warmed my heart to kitties.
10. When was the last time you cried, and why? Funnily enough, it was the last time I thought about losing Vader. He's technically G's cat, and we planned it that way, so when I move I'll lose him. It's going to break my heart.
11. What was the last thing you bought? A dark green top from Target ($10 on clearance) and a new planter for one of my plants.
12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go? The Grand Floridian for a week at WDW, Dunvagen Castle on the Isle of Skye, Paris with all the trimmings, and Toronto and Cannes for the film festivals.
13. Where do you see yourself in 5 minutes? Sitting right here still working on this meme. I'm slow.
14. Last book you read?
A Secular Age by Charles Taylor. It's 800 pages, so I'm still not finished. Charles Taylor is one of my heroes.
15. What are you doing this weekend? Not too much. Leaving very early on Sunday morning for St. Louis. Mommy's coming to see me on Saturday (so we can drive to St. Louis together), and I hope to rope her into either some blatantly left-wing movie watching (Fair Game) or any number of Ewan films.
16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play? Speaking just for myself, I think the instrument should match the person. Or rather the I should match the instrument. I'm too short and stocky and my hands are too small to play the piano, as much as I'd like to. Such a grand instrument. The harp is beautiful, but a bit limited. So really, my dream is that I could play the violin. The violin / Celtic fiddle. Then I could do things like
this. If that doesn't make you weep...
17. How are you? A bit disconcerted. PMS.
18. What are you doing tomorrow? More on my to-do list. Expect more comment-dumps.
19. What was your favorite childhood activity? I don't remember.
