Wait a second. I just realized. Is Jeri still hanging around the base? She really ought to be at home!
Yes, she probably should be, but it seems that her parents and little brother have not returned from their trip yet.
Trip? Where exactly did they go? The colonies? You'd think they'd be home by now. For that matter why did they leave Jeri here alone? Well, I guess if that's how it is, it's better that she's here than at home then.

I don't think there's much else we can do, except be there for her. This is something she ultimately needs to work out on her own.
