The last person Mizuki expected to see when he opened the door to his new dorm room was Taki Haginosuke sitting on his bed painting his nails as if he belonged there. The former Hyoutei student didn't of course. Mizuki's room was a single. He had barely managed to snag one this semester. What was the other doing in his room stinking it up with the smell of nail polish.
The first thing he did was open the window. He looked at Taki next who still hadn't acknowledged that he was there. He crossed his arms.
“What are you doing in my room and how did you get in here?”
Taki looked over his nails before giving Mizuki a smile. “That's not the way you greet your ex.”
“It's the way I greet you...” Honestly of all the people he had thought to date back in high school. Taki was almost as annoying as a girl. “I repeat. What are you doing in here and how did you get in?”
“I had an idea that I wanted to share with you,” Taki answered. He patted a spot next to him. “And to your second question...” Taki held up a key.
Mizuki stared for a moment. “How did you get a key to my room?” He reached for it.
Taki shrugged and moved his hand. “I know people.” He flopped back on Mizuki's bed. There was a moment of silence before Taki spoke again. “Ugh, you're so lucky. I have to share my room with three other people. It's horrible.”
Mizuki rolled his eyes. “Yes yes... I feel sorry for your roommates...” He took a seat. “Now what is this idea of yours that I'm sure will be ridiculous.”
Taki sat up. “I think we should start a dating service or something like that.” He ran a hand through his hair. “I'm sure you've noticed how no one seems to be dating... We should help everyone out.”
He knew it was going to be something ridiculous. “You are the last person I'd want relationship advice from.”
“Not just me. You also. You take data on people right? We'll use that to figure out how compatible everyone is with each other.” He patted Mizuki of the back. “Just follow my lead. This will work.”
“And how to 'we' convince everyone that this is a good idea?” Mizuki sighed. He couldn't believe that he was actually considering this.
Taki waved a hand at him and smiled. “Like I said. Just leave everything to me.” He stood to leave. “You just do what I tell you to.”
