Everyone knew Kaylea was special. Everyone but Kaylea. Maybe it was the way her long, soft, silver hair fell on her Hogwart’s uniform. Maybe it was the deep green in her eyes - eyes that always seemed to betray just the slightest hint of laughter (which would always infuriate Snape). Maybe it was that she came from a long line of powerful, influential wizards - men who shaped the history of both mages and muggles. Maybe it was the easy way she mastered her spells, so that even Hermione had come to her for help a few times, not that she would ever let anyone know. Or maybe it was her natural athleticism - quite a little scandal was brewed up, if you will, when Harry begged her to replace him as Hogwart’s seeker, knowing that the team could always win if she took the position. Maybe it was any one of those things, maybe it was all of them. But, in the end, everyone knew that there was something about her, and everybody loved her.
What they didn’t know was that she was destined to lead Hogwart’s out of its darkest times.
Which makes it all the more of a pity when she was run over by a cab trying to get back to the station.
Instead, the mantle of destiny fell on Todd.
Like Kaylea, Todd came from a long, prestigious family line. However, there are occasionally throwbacks… deep disappointments in the family tree. Branches that are best quickly pruned.
Todd had just enough skill to be accepted into Hogwarts… so long as a very generous endowment to the school accompanied his application… as well as a management position at Todd’s father’s firm for Dumbledore’s great granddaughter.
Yes, on Toddy’s weak and slack shoulders, the fate of the wizarding world rested.
Pity about those cabs.
Anyways, it's a start...
