My Finished EverAfter Gown!

Jul 28, 2007 16:56

The gown was inspired by the "just breath" gown from the Motion Picture EverAfter. I used the Simplicity 3812 pattern as a base. I added contrasting panels,a train, and modified the overskirt and gauntlets. The pattern has a false undershirt (that is the sleeves are attached to the bodice) I made a whole undershirt. I hand sewed all eyelets

Undershirt- Black cotton batiste
Dress- Silver Silk dupioni
Dress contrast-Crinkle silk chiffon
Underskirt- Black peachskin (Polyester)
Bodice lining- Gray cotton
bodice interlining- black silk organza

The headdress (Only seen in some photos) Was inspired by the headdress Arwen wears in the coronation scene at the end of The Return of the King. I made it in a school jewelery class.

Crown materials: Nickle silver, hand cut, bent, hammered, and drilled. Silver rings and chain. Nylon coated jewelry wire, and glass beads.

There are several in progress photos in other entires in my journal for those interested.

everafter gown, handsewing, eyelets, chemise, fantasy, lace
