1840's Combination

I solved the photography problem of sheer underwear by taking photos on my schools body form. The fit was a little off though, as the chemise is made to be off the shoulder and the form has no arms!

1840's Women's Combination underwear with button front, drawstring neckline and split crotch. Linen body with cotton lace. The split is over lapped at the back, which helps it stay closed naturally. I based the pattern off the combination from Period Costume for Stage and Screen with modifications for an off the shoulder fit + sleeves. The ribbon is some simple 1/8" polyester ribbon with white poka-dots on it :)

And for anyone interested I uploaded better photos of my organdy petticoat to facebook: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=279807768737620&set=pu.269295446455519&type=1&theater
