I got a commission to make LeeLoo's Bandage outfit from the 5th Element Movie. I've always wanted to make this costume, so I am really excited!!!
This coming weekend I have a fitting, which is going to be interesting seeing as most of the costume is strips of fabric. I probably wont post any pictures until it is finished, but it's for Halloween so it will be done pretty soon.

Screen Version: The costume seems like it is some kind of heavy knit, possibly neoprene or some other Smart fabric finished with a decorative edge stitch. In some shots it looks almost like a plain zig-zag, but I have a feeling they hand sewed at least parts of it. Really tricky to find where the closures are???
My client wants a version with a fuller bandeau-top and boy-shorts. I found a nice heavy double knit, so I plan to use that. I Think I am going to make the top half attach at the boy-short with Velcro or something so it is easy for her to take on and off her self. Also a closure at the back of the neck. When I was at the store I also grabbed one of those light sew-in bras. During the fitting I'm interested to see how it looks because I have never used one before.
