Corset- DONE!

Oct 26, 2010 21:51

Civil War Corset:
This is a corset I have had this corset lying around forever. The otherday I realized it was almost done...except for three little bits of flossing. I realized how silly that was so I sat down and did it!

Anyway, in my head this corset has a lot of bag "karma" attached to it, so I have decided to sell it.

I have included under the cut all relevant measurements as well as

The Finished Corset:

Materials:
Outer layer of light blue silk Dupioni fused to cotton coutil. The corset has coutil bone casings (on the inside) and a plain white cotton lining. As per the original corset instructions, the waist stay is only in half the corset (The back half). The gussets are reinforced/embroidered with pearl cotton thread. The flossing is grey cotton embroidery floss. Lacing is 1/4" cotton tipped in plastic.

Bones:
Two- 1/2" flat steels (next to busk) remainder of boning is 1/4" spiral steels, with a few 1/4" zip ties at the side bust.

A while back I posted about how I made the corset: http://izodiea.livejournal.com/tag/simplicity%202890
