First stage of my big 80's hair...the 1780's that is! and the results are promising!
A continuation of this post:
http://izodiea.livejournal.com/12845.html This was a test run to make sure the pad is giving me the proper shape. While it's not quite as epic as it could be (

A few bumps I ran into:
This was my first time using a curling iron, so it took me a while to get the feel for it. I also ran out of bobby pins- So I had to make much larger sections just to get it all up. (I threw in two decorative hair pins as well) Finally, the hair spray I was using kinda failed on me...Why aqua net did I stray? This made it very tricky to get the curls not to frizz and flop out everywhere.
Hopefully next time I try this style again it will be easier and take less time. Time wise it took at least an hour, but I was not paying super close attention.
And as far as comfort goes, I couldn't even tell I was wearing the pad. Neither the clips, bobby pins or weight bothered me; and the pad stayed on even when I shook my head violently. Hooray!
