Weirdness
All right. This will sound strange, but it's completely true. If it really has stopped, then I may not need to figure out why it was happening, but I'm curious.
For the past 10 days or so (I think I first noticed it... last week? That Tuesday?), around 4:30 a.m. every morning I wake briefly to hear a loud male voice coming from what sounds like a couple houses down the street from us.
It's not yelling--this is obviously not a domestic dispute. He's calling in a loud voice--projecting, like a speaker or actor or priest. And he's chanting. It's not English, but I can't tell what language it might be. It lasts for about a minute. Maybe two.
Every. Single. Night.
I've never heard this before. Not in this neighborhood, not anywhere. Anyone have ideas? We do have many different nationalities and religions represented in a few blocks, here, but... Still. Middle of the night chanting is a new thing here.
