Fic as meta (Supernatural)
Okay. A few years ago I came to grips with the fact that I like my fannish meta as fic more than (usually) I like it as blog post/essay. Sometimes this means that I write fic to explore how I see a particular character or issue or arc. Sometimes, it means that I rec fic to the rest of you. :)
These are both meta comments from me on 5.16 of Supernatural, "Dark Side of the Moon."
For those of you who are interested in or discussing Sam's Heaven memories, this fic gives pretty much exactly my take on it:
The Absence of Water, by caffienekitty
An introspective episode tag for 5.16. (Author says it's maudlin. Imho, it's not nearly as maudlin as it could have been.)
And for those of you who are interested in or having a hard time with the message from God thing:
Holy Shit, You're One of a Kind, by hereare-mysins
This was written for maychorian's Castiel-centric fic party, but all you need to know is that it's the boys (mostly Sam) helping Castiel deal with the message from God.
