Questions meme

1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song.
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.

I was given questions by the excellent maychorian, and here are my answers:
1. Are you content with your current vocation? What would you change?
That really depends on how you define "vocation" (literally, "calling"). If you mean "occupation" (what I do to make money), well, for one thing I am unemployed at the moment so I'm not thinking too hard in terms of vocation, and if I were I wouldn't want to go back to what I was doing (accounting).

But I really want to write fiction for a living, and that want hasn't changed for a long time. And this is what I think about that kind of vocation:

"But yield who will to their separation,
My object in living is to unite
My avocation and my vocation
As my two eyes make one in sight.
Only where love and need are one,
And the work is play for mortal stakes,
Is the deed ever really done
For Heaven and the future's sakes."
--Robert Frost

2. How did you become a Christian?
I was born into a family that not only called Christ Lord but lived as if it were true. That was the beginning--I gave my life to Christ quietly, over a book (of course *g*) when I was about 7, was baptized at age 9, and started really figuring out what all this meant in terms of living when I was 11 or 12.

And I went through a period of questioning in my teens: if I had found that Christianity was antithetical to reason, I would have turned away from it, I think, but what I found instead is that it is eminently reasonable. So here I am.

3. Chocolate or vanilla?
Vanilla, most of the time. Especially if we're talking about ice cream.

4. Charlie or Don?
Oh, lordy. My typical answer is "either." Because whichever one I got, I would still have Alan Eppes as my father-in-law, and he's the real catch. *g*

But...probably Don, if I were pressed to choose. We are too much alike in some ways and very different in others, and I think I could talk to him in ways he would understand. (Also, Charlie's quite good-looking but Don is just dead sexy.)

5. List the color wheel in order of preference, please?
LOL, what kind of question is this?

Blue
Orange
Yellow
Red
Purple
Green
