Writing goals for November

Nov 03, 2008 11:26

I am not doing NaNoWriMo this year.

However, I do have some specific writing goals that I hope to meet during the month of November (subject to RL distractions like getting a job, of course).

Cut for the uninterested )

my fics, goals, real life, writing

It's already Nov. Is that too late to drop in and sign up there?

Naw, I don't think it's too late, it's pretty relaxed.

You are so ambitious, it makes me feel like a slug. Feel free to call me if you need to be distracted from doing anything productive bounce stuff off someone.

My SPN spec suggestion: Dean Winchester and the Carnivorous Watch Cap.

(What?)

LOL.

I'm attempting to be productive because I'm not working. IMHO, if you had no job, you too could make these ambitious goals. *g* (Now, if I can do half of this I'll be good.)

You know, I was re-watching Thursday's SPN, and for some reason I started thinking about a TS fic that had . . . a floating banshee head, like a balloon . . . I'm sure it was one of Martha's . . . and it made me start thinking that the boys should come into contact with something very Far Eastern in their hunting. Something from Japan, maybe. Or China. And they could investigate in Little Tokyo or Chinatown or something . . . Oh! And if it was Chinatown, Dean could recite lines from his man Jack's movie . . .

Anyway, spec script idea . . .

Hee. Don't get too excited; all I'm doing is coming up with ideas for Supernatural stories. I want to write for television someday, and a spec script for an existing show is how the studios learn that I'm a good writer and that they might do well to hire me. :-)

But since I am working on Each Should Carry, too, you may look forward to that.

I'm too bad with titles so don't be upset if i forgot some *sigh* But i remember the actual story :)

The thing is it's plenty of SN fics around but small amouте ща them are readable if you want to read something that not porn (i have no problems with porn but if you read couple of those fics - you read all of them cos they're too cliche-ish) or wincest. So it's hard for me to find something decent to read. That's why i'm glad to find someone i didn't read yet :)

Oh, yeah, that is totally true. There's a lot of good gen fic in this fandom, but it's really tough to find, and tougher to find the good stuff in with the badly written stuff. (And I am not fond of wincest either.)

There's a gal I know (dotfic who keeps a list of SPN fic recs on her del.icio.us list; most of the stories she has bookmarked are gen, or at least wincest-free. Don't know if you'd find stuff there you haven't read, but that's where I find a lot of good stories.
