Sarah Jane was there at the beginning of the Daleks, when the Time Lords sent Four back to keep them from ever being created. Needless to say, that didn't work out so well. So not only does she know what the Daleks are capable of, she's quite possibly the only human who's ever met Davros--and survived.

The thing about Rose freaking out about the regeneration, I think, is that you have to remember her one-and-only experience with it, i.e. the Doctor being out of commission for up to sixteen hours while things went to hell. Things are already at "hell"; the Doctor being out of it now? Not good!

That's what I thought! As I said, I haven't seen any Old School Dalek adventures, but somehow I ran across the information that it was Four and SJ in that particular storyline. So I LOVED that she was so terrified.

Re: Rose's reaction: yeah, true enough, it just seemed a little more personal than that.

When Sarah Jane saw Davros, Geo said, very forebodingly, "Oh, she knows who *that* is . . . "

I think I was in too much shock, trying to hold on to the ride, to flail at all. Just stunned, "Can we find the 2nd part?"

"Genesis of the Daleks", the story with Four and Sarah, and which introduced Davros, is one of the best Old Who serials out there. Well worth your time to find. (Also, as some may point out, it features Harry Sullivan getting his foot stuck in a giant clam, but that's not relevant here...) Sarah also met the Daleks in an earlier story, "Death to the Daleks", while travelling with Three. Not nearly as good as "Genesis", though.

I kinda wanted to smack Rose around when she freaked out about the regeneration, 'cause it seemed to me that she wasn't so much worried about the Doctor being out of commission as she just didn't want him to change. And... okay, one can get attached to an incarnation (I love Ten and will cry when he's gone), but she does know that he's essentially the same man!

Donna is awesome. Oh yes.

The growing sense of foreboding that Something Bad is going to happen to Donna. NO, I say. Donna must stay and be the Doctor's companion for a long, long, happy time.

Daleks again?

I know, I am sick to death of Daleks. (sigh)

Martha didn't mention her fiance, though she's wearing the ring the whole time.

The whole "Martha's fiance" thing is really annoying to me, because the total and utter lack of screen-time for said fiance means that we cannot see sufficient motive for Martha wanting to marry him; that this particular plot-point is not character-driven at all, but just TPTB pushing the characters around. Unlike with Gwen and Rhys, where we've seen their interaction and we know how awesome Rhys is. I mean, yes, we did see that Tom Mulligan had the potential to be awesome, but the Tom Mulligan that Martha started going out with is not the same man who we saw die for her ( ... )

Aw, dammit, now I'm getting preemptively sad!

I agree with you about the fiance thing, although I was kind of willing to let it slide until now. But Martha went to her mum's place instead? Wow. She should not be marrying this guy.

Shooting Daleks with paintball guns!
My idea!

OMG! That's right! *g*

As for the Doctor's habit of a lifetime, well, hey, maybe now would be a good time to change, buddy! I'm just saying.

When you have seen the next episode, cheer yourself up by popping over to season4b and reading various fixes, which were doubly impressive because most of them were written within a few days of the episode airing.

Rose, for heavens' sake, there had better be some reason you're so freaked out about the Doctor regenerating. Donna doesn't know what's going on, she has some excuse, it's freaky. You've seen this before! It can't possibly just be that he's changing his face. That would be remarkably petty for you, Rose.

Uh, no, I'm afraid Rose realy is just that petty. As they say in the Confidential: she wants her Doctor. *SIGHS*
