Yes, you should have B7 icons! Everyone should have B7 icons!
When the episode was made, it was probably fresher,
Not much, I don't think. :)
So this is Cally!
This is one side of Cally, anyway, and by far the most interesting side.
It didn’t seem that anyone had heard of the Aurons (sp?), nor had met any actual telepaths, but Blake and Avon just sort of rolled with it.
I think the Aurons, or at least the fact that telepaths exists somewhere in the universe, are sort of generally known about, so it's not an "OMG, you're what?, no way!!" kind of shocking to them. But, as you'll see later in the series, the Aurons (or Auronar, both seem to be acceptable) are pretty reclusive, so it's not surprising none of them has met one before. But, you know, if you're a hardened rebel in a tough dystopian universe, you've got to be cool about things like that, I guess. :)
(Where did these strong female characters come from, in the same era as Trek? *is impressed*)Well, it was post-Trek, or at least post-TOS. And, sadly, it wasn't
( ... )
Make me one? *puppy-dog eyes* No, kidding, but I'll have to find one somewhere, cause I cannot make visual artsy things to save my life.

Hmmm. You're making me nervous for later. Oh well. I'll enjoy tough!Cally while she's here, and see what I make of her other sides when they appear.

That makes sense. Although now I'm wondering more than before about the educational gap between Blake & Avon, and Vila--they seem to be from rather different strata of society, and either Vila knows less (about some things) or he's just not as leery of admitting that he doesn't know things.
No realism at all; I’ve seen a lot on stage that’s much more convincing. This goes for all eps I’ve seen so far. Does it ever get better?
Um... No. Sorry. :)
Dang. Guessed I'd better start getting used to it, then.
I tried to leave a comment, but it got eaten, and I can't remember what I said.
Yes, Cally is good. She gets wimpified later, because some of the writers didn't know how or want to write strong women, but she still managed to be awesome upon occassion. 8-)
Re: Avon: well, he's still annoying me, but now I don't mind his annoying traits as much, because now I want to know what makes him tick. (I'm still of the opinion that he really is just as self-centered and amoral as he projects, but even that is intriguing, especially when he's having to work with an idealist like Blake. That's just all kinds of layered, awesome character work waiting to happen.)

My opinion is that yes, he's self-centred and amoral, but not quite as much as he projects. It's a defence mechanism: he wants people to think that he's bad and tough and unpredictable, so that they don't rely on him.
I'm still of the opinion that he really is just as self-centered and amoral as he projects... me, I think he wants to be and most of the time has no trouble acting that way - he really doesn't give a damn about most of the human race. But in the odd cases where he does care... and he's (unwillingly) started to here {happy sigh} I do like complicated heroes.
Check b7icons, you'll probably find just the thing you want there :) I also have some for the taking of by anyone who'd like them here, but there are some wonderful ones by other people in that comm.
The main thing I love about Time Squad is the very first Flight Deck Fight (and splendid it is too) and the way that - after all that trying to tell Blake and Jenna he wanted shot of them, Avon tries to hard to save them... he's really tense there :)

Also b7icons is a good place to look, though I think it depends on the particular posts whether said icons are free to snurch.
In that case, there must be a LOT of good fic. Yes?
Yes, but being a pre-'net fandom, most if it is in fanzines.

And I'm glad Avon is no longer annoying you. 8-)
