The scariest movie I've ever seen is....

(please don't laugh)

(at least, not too loud)

It's Amadeus. Yes, the movie about Mozart and Salieri, written by the brilliant (and slightly twisted) Peter Shaffer.

It was a bad time for me to watch this movie, in the depressing year post-university, but by the end of the film I was shaking so hard I could barely stand. The line, the moment, that did me in did so because it put into words the most secret fear of my own heart:

"All I ever wanted was to sing for God. He gave me that desire, and then made me mute."

Nevermind that Salieri was only mute next to a genius like Mozart. Nevermind what a worst-case scenario perfectionist point of view that is. It terrified me, and to an extent still does.

What movie or book has scared you the most? Tell me in the comments! (and it can be "scared" in the traditional horror sense; I'm not looking for just the confessional here. *g*)

fear, real life, request, movies, review, godstuff
