It's good that I have Sam and Dean in my head, right? They're for my next spec. But that means I'm not going to write fic about them. I'm going to save up my creative energies.
Yeah, tell that to my brain.
I'd love to see fairly simple Sam & Dean vid, second season mostly, set to this:
SPARE CHANGE
© 2005 Serena Postel
He wrestles with demons trying to find the words for me to comprehend this history
Why can't he see I've got my own degree of misery
But I'm an ear to him so I strum along out in the rain
I'm begging for my own damn change
be a nickel or a dime or someone to come and "spend" some time with me
how horrible could that be
come on honey spend a little time
It don't matter what you're going through
As long as you truly turn to the inside
And it don't matter what you're gonna go through
As long as you return to you
We all wrestle with demons
only have giving truths to comprehend the misery
Why can't we see we're only sickly out hurting the misery
But I'm an ear to him so I strum along out in the rain
I'm begging for my own damn change
But it don't matter what you're going through
As long as you truly turn to the inside
And it don't matter what you're gonna go through
As long as you return to you
'Cuz at some point we're all begging for a little change in our live
Be it a nickel or a dime or someone to come and tell us that we're
that we're fine
we're not that bad
Okay, the lyrics look a bit soppy when written out, but the song itself is low-key, a lot of guitar, angsty without being whiny. The mention of demons, and the chorus ("it don't matter what you're gonna go through/as long as you return to you"...Born Under a Bad Sign, anyone?) in particular make me think of the boys.
I was reading someone's rather scattered but interesting post about Supernatural and its attitude towards faith, religion, and God. At one point, the author said something about about proof of the divine, and added, "Where's Joan when you need her?"
I am quite intrigued by the fact that Supernatural hasn't remotely ruled God out of the show's world. In fact, I'd almost say they've gone out of their way to make sure the topic is danced around so as to leave it intact--and they've actually dealt with it directly twice.
Now my brain is really wanting to try for a ficlet with Dean and Sam and Joan (Joan's pov, of course; more fun that way), just to see what sort of God-stuff would come out.
And just to finish all this off, here's a link to a Supernatural/Numb3rs fic that I find interesting. This is part 1 of 3 (WIP, sorry):
