Rize Questions

1. I thought Rize was pretty cool. I think it was basically about a group of people expressing themselves through dance and makeup.

2. Krumpers and Clowners have different intentions. I think the Clowners do it more for the entertainment aspect and it is more about having fun and being happy. The Krumpers take it a little more seriously using the dance and makeup as an outlet to express distress and anger.

3. I think I relate to the Krumpers a little more than the Clowners because usually when I make art it’s because I’m using it as an outlet for my negative emotions. I don’t need to make art as much when I’m content with life.

4. Like I said, I think my art is more related to the way Krumpers use art.

5. Yes, I think what they are doing is fine art.

6. I’m not exactly sure what “fine art” is. To me it just displays some kind of emotion or some form of human expression.

7. I am an art student. Through this class I hope to expand my knowledge of color so that I can apply it to my art and my career.

8. I’m not sure what my favorite medium is. My most used medium is the pen and sharpie, adobe illustrator and photoshop, tape and an a box cutter/exacto knife. In my personal art I pretty much use whatever is closest to my hand. Oh, and I love spray paint and wheat paste.

9. Besides art I am interested in girls, sex, love, food, communication, unicycling with Johnathan and Jed. I love to collect vinyl records. Adventure.

10. I really really respect Trent Reznor as an artist because I think he makes art for the right reasons. The way he explores sound is completely unnatural and new and the way he presents his art is in a very “take it or leave it” kind of way. I also really respect street artists like banksy, because they force people to interact with there art and they are completely anonymous and take no credit. I like the idea of forcing my art into the world and making it what I want it to be or reflecting how I see it. Its very selfish.

11. I think the Beatles and Elvis are overrated. Elvis especially because he didn’t even write his own songs. As far as the beatles go, they just don’t interest me, maybe it’s a generational thing. I just find them to be boring.

12. I listen to music based on how it counteracts things I don’t want to feel. The kind of music I listen to is very dependant on how I feel at the moment and how I want to feel which may or may not be relative to the intended emotion of the music. Because of this I listen to all kinds of music. That isn’t to say I listen to every kind of music. But I suppose, for the most part, I listen to music that doesn’t really fit into any one genre. I guess you could call it mixed media music. Music is definitely related to visual art. There are layers, values, intensity, tones, patterns, and more.
